KWC ends the first half with a 14-2 run to close within 20 of Findlay at the half. Ugh.
3 scholarship players gone before the season even started. Top 3 scorers on the season missing for this game - Harris with a broken foot, Dzierzawski with a severe illness of a family member and Hatton out because of 2 techs last game. Playing with 8 players total...3 scholarship players...so given the circumstances it could be worse.
I believe the coaching search is going to generate some much needed excitement in the KWC program over the next few weeks. For now, if we can just make this final score somewhat respectable we should be happy.
Surprising to see how far KWC has fallen in one year. Checked last year's stats and most of their top players were seniors (and some would-be returners that either left or were kicked off)
By the way, Alderson-Broaddus finished the 2017-2018 season with a winning record, so props to them for that (18-11 overall and 11-9 GMAC).
We return our 3 best players. We have two guys up there that sat out there this year that have serious game. Carmon has Mike Davis talent. We need to get some serious inside players to go with our guard talent. I have to believe the staff is going to look for a quality D-I transfer post player. We have scholarship money to give. It has potential to be special next season. I wasn't happy with some of our guys getting suspended for the last two games of the regular season. No sense in that. It put us in the seed we didn't need.
On the women's side, interesting that they took Findlay as an at-large over Cedarville, despite CU having won the G-MAC regular season title and having the higher performance indicator. I'm guessing that they took into consideration that the team's wings are clipped due to our top-scorer's season-ending injury. I guess I can't argue with that logic. Still, sucks for the girls that they had the resume to go but didn't.

I agree, was very surprised they took Findlay. The only thing that stands out is Findlay won both games vs Cedarville. But if that was such a big deal why was Cedarville ranked ahead of Findlay in the last regional ranking? Either way Hilsdale stole a spot, and that hurt someone else from making it.

Understood that UF won the head to heads (one of which was right after the season-ending injury to CU's top scorer). However, its not like they would be playing each other. They would be playing other Midwest teams - and CU had the better record against those teams, the higher PI and the regular season title. CU has the better resume. I do however get the "they are damaged goods, the other team has a better chance from this point forward" approach. However, until know, I really didn't know that perceived potential future performance was a considered determining factor. I think its clear that it is.
BTW - if the NFL used this criteria (perceived potential future performance), the Eagles would not be your Super Bowl champs.

I'm in California, so you're a lot closer and know more about the inside stuff. Thanks for sharing. Go Battlers!
Has it been mentioned elsewhere that Sam Harris is out at TNU?
I listened to their radio show and they tried to put a happy face on it, almost making it sound like he was retiring after 25 years to pursue other interests. But, you could tell it was gloss. The newspaper was more blunt: fired.
