The Kartrashians have proven that you can make a pile of **** seem important. If you want the students to show up...get it on the one thing genetically attached to them that they look at more than anything else in life...their phones. It's marketing. You want alumni in Yinzerburgh to make the slog out 22 for games....get a buzz going in the area. Put up billboards touting only one losing season in 37 years. The Godfather proved that creating a media buzz could make people put their attention in the Mon Valley. Nobody wants to go to the Mon Valley but he created enough of a buzz in Yinzerburgh to lure people down to hell.

Why can't IUP do any of that? They can...they just don't bother.

I remember at the height of the IUP Band's run Casavant...they had more than one billboard touting The Legend along the PA Turnpike.

You mean we couldn't put up one lousy billboard near Heinz It's Nowhere Near As Nice As The Linc In Philly Field promoting IUP Foosball and it's decades of success....because there has to be a percentage of IUP alumni attending Stiller games. You plant that bug to get them to maybe make a trip or two up to Indiana.

To get Indiana locals to go...maybe if you have a promotion where if you present a ticket stub from a game...you get discounted seats to whatever Third Rate Yahoo Country Act is playing at the KCAC in the fall.

I've been to away games at West Chester, Cheyney, Millersville, East Stroudsburg, Bloomsburg and Shippensburg...and I can honestly say none of those places have an electric atmosphere on game day. So whatever is going on at Slimey....it has to be they are either programming their Dr. Evil control chips to make them all excited or all of the concessions are spike with Ecstasy.

IUP is getting 2500 through the door without even trying. Imagine if they had a budget to try.....I'm sure they would gladly take all of your donations for a marketing program.
    All true.

West Chester started advertising on Philly TV and put their ads on SEPTA buses and at the Regional Rail Stations all over the place.....

      ....and their enrollment went UP.

Does IUP even try to do that anywhere in The Yinzerlands?

How does the University with the most money in endowment in the PSAC/State System not even try....

But they do call my phone often enough looking for money....

        Hire one.

Yes...it's literally the most bull**** job in the history of modern employment...but they somehow get people to buy into things that they wouldn't have otherwise.

Let's hope it's a great way to celebrate that New Haven win from earlier in the day.
Do the students know who they are...I mean the band is now in their 50's.

Good for them to still be together and performing.

I don't buy the cold weather nonsense. PSU gets 100,000 on Saturday night even it it's 3 degrees. It's not that cold around here in late October and the first weekend in November. If anything it's too freaking hot at noon in September.

I was at that game. That 4k+ posted number is, well, highly questionable.

Over the years, most of the coaches I have talked to told me they hate night games.

Night games give their players too much time on their hands. They can't hold a practice and the players are too amped up for meetings. So they sit and wait and that's not always best.

One coach told me that "in a perfect world, games would kick off at 9 a.m."

Some coaches feel like they're in a tough spot because they want the program to grow and for the fans to fill the place, but it's best for their team to basically roll out of bed and play the game.

Wasn't the Indiana High QB on that roster too? Then transferred to Mercyhurst to never been hear from again? Weaver?

Yeah. Stocker and Weaver. Two IUP saviors who transferred to lesser programs and still barely played.
