Did I just hear word that former Pitt football coach Johnny Majors has passed on? He took them to the top of the college football world in '76. Second stint didn't go so good.

Hopefully Pitt will get their basketball players on campus as well. I think there are like four or five of them stuck in the hell of the pandemic central that is New York City.

He may be a man. And, used to be 40. But, he's sure in hot water. His main supporter in Stillwater is also no longer with us.

Radio in Yinzerville blowing up. Many want Pitt to fire Pat Narduzzi and target recently fired (NFL HC) Bill O'Brien (formerly of Happy Valley and the Patriots).
No way to spin it Pitt took a horrible, 30-29, home loss this past weekend to NC State. The team looked pretty blah.
Mark Madden, who despises Narduzzi, went on quite the tirade toward Pitt the past two days.
I still think Pitt has a pretty good team. They have at least two Round 1 players on defense, a solid senior QB and what many beleived to be one of the best and deepest defensive lines in the country.
They do, however, have major issues at RB. Major. The offensive line didn't look too hot Saturday, either. They got pushed around.
This is Year 6 for Narduzzi. Pitt has yet to crack the Top 20 under his watch. They continue to lose baffling games to perceived heavy dogs. But, then, he wins at Clemson or some other yearly major upset.
It tells me the talent is there. Not sure the coach is, however.
Pitt wanted stability. Narduzzi has given them that much. His teams are usually a tough out.
He landed on many national 'hot seat' lists this week. Not sure if that's really accurate or not, but he's got some really daunting games ahead -- Notre Dame, at Miami, at Clemson, Virginia Tech.
NC State was a game they had to win. They just had to. Now, they turn around and make a tough Saturday night road trip to Boston College. Another no-excuses, must win. Hopefully it won't be the infamous local expression ... same old Pitt.
Narduzzi said his players were embarrassed and they looked like a new team this week. Maybe they started beleiving the hype too much. I hope that was the case.
Then again, maybe the coach started beleiving the hype. Hopefully he looks like a new HC this week, too.

As a Pitt fan, there are several rules, theories and beliefs you live by:
* The Pitt homer truly believes they are an elite D1 program and that Pitt is a destination job/program
* Next year is ALWAYS going to be the big year
* Like Uncle Rico wants to believe, it's still miraculously 1982. Tony Dorsett just left town and Dan Marino will save the day.
* If Pitt Stadium was still standing the Panthers would be a Top 5 yearly program. The fact it was about to fall down is irrelevant.
* Pitt's one big yearly upset offsets its one big yearly disaster
* Somehow, Hammer Down Todd Graham is getting blamed for the N.C. State loss
* The WPIAL has dried up on talent. Then of course, Ohio State, Penn State and others (yearly) swipe all of the top players out of Pitt's backyard.
* The King Yinzer, Dave Wanny, should have never, ever been fired.

I like Bill O'Brien as a person and as a father but I don't think that I would ever want him in Oakland. Pitt would probably get a WR even better than the great Larry Fitzgerald and then Bill would promptly trade him to Arizona State for a shiny and glitzy new water bucket. Geez!

You definitely want to procure ACC Network so you can watch Pitt men's basketball this winter!
