  • Week 1 Live Thread

Figure we could use a thread for all the games not involving IUP. 😉

ESU has controlled things all game against Pace. Currently 34-6, 3:40 left in the 3rd.

  • #2
    ESU 55, Pace 6, 10:24 4Q
    MILL 26, St Anselm 7, 11:58 4Q
    GAN 13, Charleston 9, 5:28 4Q
    Fairmont 24, BLOOM 17, 11:18 4Q
    Wheeling 21, SHU 10 2:21 3Q
Ferris State 28, HURST 12, Halftime

Last update I got from Clarion-Lincoln was 21-7 at halftime... no live stats and crappy video feed.

ESU has been good tonight... but Pace keeps shooting themselves in the foot. A muffed punt recovered by ESU in the end zone gives the Warriors a 60-burger.

So 4-4 for the PSAC on opening day.

IUP big win over preseason #1 contender for the GMAC.
ESU taking care of business against a mediocre NE10 Pace team, solid showing and exactly how you'd want to treat an inferior opponent.
Millersville with a great opening day effort in smacking another NE10 team St Anselm.
Clarion beat a terrible Lincoln team, probably won't mean much long term.

On the flip side, the MEC definitely got a leg up on the PSAC last night. MEC went 3-0 and all were fairly evenly matched. Good start for their case to possibly get 2 into the dance for a change.

Bloom falling to Fairmont St is disappointing. Might be another long year for the Huskies.
Mercyhurst had no chance against Ferris, so no surprise there.
Charleston took down Gannon. Gannon still not ready to be a contender.
Seton Hill still sucks, tell that WR to shut up. Wheeling handled them.

Correctamundo. The fall of Bloom athletics is really sad. And no comments on here from our Bloom supporter friends.Very sad state of affairs.

Fairmont was also picked second to last in their coaches' poll. Their bums certainly beat our bums. Charleston got a nice win.

West Liberty took their loss (to a God awful Walsh team).

We'll find out a lot about East Stroud next weekend.

Warriors have a hell of a schedule. They get Shepherd and Kutztown like usual, but drew IUP and Cal as well on the crossovers. I think the "find out what they are made of game" is actually week 5 against Kutztown. Barring a disaster, they should be 3-1 heading into that game with the Bears.

Can confirm. Was on the sideline at this time and Jimmy went up to his fifth string tight end and reminded him that Pace would completely butcher a punt snap and that he should fall on it in the end zone. "Give IUP something to think about," he said. "Let them know if they snap the ball right into the protector's fat ass we will have some scrub recover it."

Ship also, of course, gets Shepherd and Kutztown along with IUP and Newberry. But until those of us not named Shepherd and Kutztown can consistently give the Western top dogs a decent game we're basically playing for king of the second tier.

Thanks for the game inside the game insights. Will you be on the sideline when IUP plays ESU?

IUP’s Special Ed play is probably the only chance for most teams.

Its funny that IUP’s biggest hater accuses IUP
of running up scores on weaker opposition and then their team wins by 53 and somehow it’s all okay. If IUP beat Pace by 53 we would have been accused of running up the score.

Check the box score, or watch the stream. Two of their final 3 touchdowns were on special Teams. The punter dropped the ball, and then tossed it to an ESU rusher who ran it back. The next touchdown came with backups when they were just running the ball, and the final touchdown came on special teams again when an ESU player recovers a fumble.
