Yes, he was an unknown commodity. But, he had been around success and so he knew what needed to be done. I would rather have an unknown commodity than a mediocre track record. As I stated earlier. excitement and optimism are void of this hire unless you are diehard blue and gold kool aid drinking sunshade wearing homer. Cautiously optimistic is the term I use every year before Tech's Defense takes the field.

I should've bet Pops a steak dinner that KK would be gone if things didn't change. Pops was sure that they wouldn't let him go because of the money left in the contract. Hmmm Nostrapopus should have gotten a better read from the stars over Lubbock. Hahahaha

I disagree. He will be recruiting kids born in 2002. Kids raised on social media. Its a big factor, especially at this level.

That is a good thing. He can recruit kids via Facebook & Twitter!

He said something similar to this while addressing the team yesterday. There is a video on the football page online. I think it was more along the lines of learning the culture here & learning Colby's blueprint though and not learning "how to win."

Do you know what coaches are staying and which ones are moving on to SFA? I've seen several of the more senior assistants going w/Colby, but didn't really track it.

THIS was a GREAT thing said by Bailiff. WTF????

It shows he is not coming in guns blazing with a million changes and an ego!!!! He wants to learn the culture in Commerce, DII football, and what made the Lions the 2017 NCs.

I took this as a HUGE positive!! Sounds like he WANTS to keep some GA's, coaches, and players. I think it is smart.

Those are the only ones I know of as well. I do know that the other coaches that were on staff are still in Commerce and have been out recruiting. Bailiff is hitting the road tomorrow recruiting, and apparently his full staff will be in place in the next couple of weeks.

Just watched the press conference...had no idea Eddie Vowell was his high school head coach. He will immediately be hated by HOGSVRR due to this alone lol ;) Jim Wacker was his college coach. Not a bad tandem to learn from for 8 years lol

I agree that I think him embracing the culture in place is a big positive. This team is incredibly tight, and has been built on love between the coaches and players, in that area I think he's a great fit. I've also read quite a bit online that he's a lights out recruiter. Obviously he's going to have a lot to learn with the differences between D1 and D2, but that's something easily learned. Natural recruiter skills aren't.

We will see, but I like what I've seen so far.

Yes. But I was referring to a phone call made. He reached out to some GA's and I heard also to some players. It was 100% inline and in the same context as you speak. Just not worded exactly the same.

I thought it was great.
