Basically how if they would go D1 how it completely changes the school. Talks about the huge change in the amount of $ needed to move up- gave examples from NDSU.Originally posted by vikingfaithful View PostMy free reading of the StarTrib has expired, could someone post what the article states.

Looks like the MIAC found the Tommies replacement. This is a great fit for them (and geography wise too) and will just make the UMAC look even more like **** then it already is.

The scheduling piece at the end of the article is fascinating with the end of the year conference "playoff game" in the last week. Something different that is for sure.Originally posted by Twincitiesmav View PostLooks like the MIAC found the Tommies replacement. Not MIAC, but the D3 UMAC is losing another football team- that cuts them to six teams. Iowa Wesleyan is leaving as an associate member and plans on applying to the NAIA.

Might be difficult to find a replacement, or preferably two, for them within a reasonable geographic distance.Originally posted by laker View PostNot MIAC, but the D3 UMAC is losing another football team- that cuts them to six teams. Minimum for an auto-bid is seven teams. The UMAC will still have it for the 2022 season but they will need to find someone after that. I just don't see any schools in the area who plan to move to D3 that they could get. I still think that Crookston should have done that so they could have kept football.Originally posted by MStateMaverick View Post
