I doubt it. I'm sure they thought through the possible negative reactions and publicity, and were willing to deal with it. St. John's has been a dominant power in football in that conference for a long time, so maybe they will be next to be excommunicated.

The logical solution would be for the NCAA to lift the D2 to D1 multidivisional ban which only affects mens hockey. But it is the NCAA we are talking about. I also want them to grandfather the half-dozen or so D3 programs that compete in D1 sports non-scholarship, such as Union and RIT.

Interesting read. I have a feeling that the UST athletic dept is willing to step up their game and join the NSIC, but I question if university leadership (Catholic elitists) would be comfortable going in that direction

After rereading the article, you are correct. Which NSIC school would say that they couldn't compete with them? Of course, the article didn't say NSIC, just D2. But that gets pretty limited.

I want them to renovate Warner Coliseum and make it their own if they do move up to D2. Would be pretty cool as its pretty historical and nearby. But being realistic, I am 90% expecting that we hear they leave for the WIAC at the end of the 2021 school year.
