I've also filled up at the Brookings HyVee. Wondering when Kwik-Trip will get there. A half a dozen coming to Sioux Falls- Marshall is building two.

HyVee can be pretty competitive too. ZipTrip on 6th is usually about 2 cents higher than Cenex, but they also offer 3 cents off with rewards.

I'd love a KiwkTrip in Brookings, but there is so much red tape when it comes to attracting businesses. The community has been begging for another grocery store, but has yet to get one.

I came home from the holidays last night - wanted to run through the MCD drive through as it was quite late. I counted 6 police cars blocking every entrance and road off. Sounds like a threat was called in sometime before I got there. Oofta.

Everywhere is somewhere...When 1st married we lived in a town of 500, called White, SD. A middle of nowhere place. Neighbors and people from our church would clean our driveway from snowstorms, invite of over for supper, I became a volunteer firefighter and learned to till a field from a young farmer who became a good friend, Can honestly say it was one of the best places I lived. No crime was also nice.

It's a numbers game. You can only recruit so many areas and see so many players - it's best to maximize based on resources.

And in the case of Thielen, he wanted it bad enough to go get it himself. Most small school athletes can't/won't put in that type of effort. That was unreal on his part.

I know we both come from an area where Class A-AAA sports are a big deal, but there are reasons why so few of them get to sniff the lower levels of college football.

This is the kind of mentality that leads to someone like Adam Thielen nearly falling through the cracks. There are always hidden gems to be found.

But that seems to be the Mankato mindset. Same with hoops, as Margenthaler has said there are no NSIC caliber bigs to be found in the upper midwest in high school recruiting.

I get your point, and understand you really have an axe to grind with Mankato for some reason, as you try to passive aggressively put the school down in every chance you get. But my point stands, there are so few good players in that area. They can keep mining for those diamonds, but so far, it hasn’t been fruitful.

By the way, I wasn’t stating a ‘mentality’. It is more the reality. Never did I say they shouldn’t recruit ND, but I also understand you like to misrepresent comments/context for your points.

Due to the state of the football programs at Minot and Mary, they are forced to take the recruits they can get from those far away states. It’s a perpetual problem for them. J******** will almost certainly run into the same issue.

Myles West is young (frosh) and had 800 yards and 5 scores..while not being the start until #0 Evan Lovett got hurt at the end of Sept. Assuming Lovett is good-to-go for 2024, I can see why West might not have wanted to potentially more into a time-share of the #2 spot again..and he's getting offers from near-playoff squads like Wayne..and I'm guessing others..and being from TX..I'd guess schools down there too.
