Some other oddities last night:

* IUP won despite star PG Kymani Merraro finishing with ... 0 points in just 18 minutes.

* West Chester was 2 of 19 from outside

* The two games this year IUP was called for the most fouls? Both West Chester games (24 & 28). Season average is about 15-16.

* The first WC game, Ian Herring played 17 minutes, scoring 2 points and grabbing 1 rebound.
Last night, Herring played 35 minutes, scored 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Add to it he had a massive block in the waning seconds.

I just hope he gets over getting snubbed this season and realizes he's going to be one of the stars the next two years.

Yeah, tough day for them in their home building. When they built the nice lead in the women’s game I’m sure some were thinking they’d likely see two trophies coming their way. Saying that, winning the PSAC is nice but I’m sure they’d rather win the region. They still have that in front of them and it wouldn’t shock me if they redeem themselves and win both.

The Scots have 13 losses and got the 7 seed. Don't see that every day. Remember, Edinboro started 1-6 this season.

Now they get the rubber match in front of 24 fans inside the KCAC on Friday.

Callie is a fantastic coach. She had a tough act to follow in Stan Swank. I wasn't sure Callie was "ready" but she's proven me wrong several times over. She's destined to be part of the first father-daughter combo in Edinboro's athletics HOF. Her dad Rich was a star football player at Ambridge and on Edinboro's early 70s teams.

As Tony put it on the broadcast, IUP really didn’t have a signature win all year before today. I guess if you’re going to do it, the NCAA Tournament is a fine time. One win in the tournament is a pretty big accomplishment considering how the last couple years played out.

Tomorrow is IUP's kind of game. Joe can't coach against the up-tempo but he's a master of coaching against the zone.

Not saying IUP will win but this is their kind of game and pace. They better eat their Wheaties and be ready for a brawl. These two played in the Regional a few years ago and it was a street fight.

IUP certainly has a shot. It’s a good matchup for them. In hindsight, it’s too bad Cal and Gannon are on the same side of the bracket. It’s funny how earlier this year we were talking about the possibility of IUP playing Gannon four times on the women’s side. Now suddenly that’s a possibility on the men’s side. Crazy.

Joe's playing with house money so they should be loose.

Don't forget these two played a closed door scrimmage back in October, and the HCs are friends. So, there is some familiarity.

This could be the first to score 45 wins.
