Agree...These rankings are a little stale.

        Re: Atlantic Regional

The Ship-West Chester question will be answered next Wednesday night in West Chester. Ship has to win one of the road games against the contenders; already fell on the road to East Strouds and Kutztown.

From my personal one-game eye test (a game they actually lost), I can't argue with West Liberty's slot at all. That is a quality outfit. In fact, I'd pay to see Fairmont against the PSAC's best.

          Re: Atlantic Regional

Fairmont played at IUP and lost in December. Gannon lost to Wheeling Jesuit in November. Those are the only two head-to-head games amongst better PSAC teams and the MEC.

You won't have to wait much longer. At least 4 PSAC teams are going to the regional. Match-ups are inevitable.

                Re: Atlantic Regional

Upcoming games in this final week with the most regional implications:

                WEDNESDAY

                Edinboro at IUP
East Stroudsburg at Kutztown -- Seeding and who hosts the PSAC Tournament?
Shippensburg at West Chester -- Seeding and who hosts the PSAC Tournament?
                Virginia State at Bowie State

                SATURDAY

Slippery Rock at Gannon -- Winner builds long-shot resume; also gets first-round bye in PSAC Tournament ... likely Round 3 will be in Round 2 of PSAC Tournament next week
Wheeling Jesuit at West Liberty --> big game for WJ seeding
Fairmont State at Shepherd --> Fairmont on bubble after last week and IUP has head-to-head

                  Re: Atlantic Regional

If Shaw makes in the playoffs, teams better not take them lightly. But I doubt they make it. Part of me wants to see them make it.

Wow ... potentially two straight Kevin Reynolds visits to the Hammermill Center. That should be a real treat.

I have a feeling GU/SRU will play again next Wednesday and also IUP/Edinboro will meet for Round 3.

The loser of GU/SRU this Saturday will be hosting Mercyhurst Monday night.

Based on the initial Regional Ranking -- and what's happened since -- here's my prediction for today (with current records):

                        1. West Liberty (24-1 overall, 24-1 in-region)

                        2. Virginia State (21-3, 20-3)

                        3. Shippensburg (20-5, 20-5)

                        4. West Chester (20-5, 20-5)

                        5. Kutztown (19-5, 19-5)

                        6. Wheeling Jesuit (21-5, 21-5)

                        7. East Stroudsburg (19-5, 19-5)

                        8. IUP (20-7, 20-6)

                        9. Fairmont State (19-7, 18-6)

                        10. Slippery Rock (20-7, 20-6)

That said, there will be a lot of wrenches thrown in to this by 10 p.m. tonight.

                        * East Stroudsburg and Kutztown, and Shippensburg and West Chester play tonight.
                        * IUP hosts Edinboro tonight
                        * Wheeling Jesuit's game this weekend versus West Liberty, win or lose, will have huge seeding ramifications.

My hunch is whichever team wins the IUP/Boro ladies game tonight will jump in to the No. 1 spot in the final regional ranking. It's a huge SOS boost by playing one another.

IUP stayed at No. 5. Wow. SOS heavy value ... as it should.

Funny...I thought it was mostly winning. I could go 0-25 against the top 25 teams in the nation and have a GREAT SOS number...but I'm still 0-25!!
