They have a nice team and that gym is tricky to play inside. He's done a nice job there.

Reflects that there's no great team in the East this year, but several teams that can be a tough out on a given night. Ship missing the bunny at the end of the Millersville game obviously could come back to haunt them. Shepherd, with a number of close losses, obviously could be better than 8-8. They're a good reason for wanting to get the bye in the opening round of the conference tournament.
I said it before the East is a Beast!! After tomorrow's trip to West Chester, ESU has 3 straight at home before ending the regular season at Lock Haven. With the sweep of Shippensburg accomplished, I like the Warriors chances to take the East...

We'll see if you get West Chester's "A" game. They didn't play well last night.

ESU saw the West Chester "A" game on Jan 21st. Fun stat: ESU hasn't lost a game this year when they've made 30 or more FGs...

West Chester, Lock Haven, and Shepherd have veteran guard depth that matches up with ESU better than Ship this season. That said, West Chester will have to play much better Wednesday to beat ESU again. They seemed strangely listless Monday night for a team that was still in the running for the division. Ship's games against Mansfield and Bloom were actually tougher than that one. Also, not surprised ESU doesn't lose when they make a lot of FGs. That's kind of what the game's about, right?

              • West Chester has been shorthanded with Manigo and Wall not playing recently. I asked Coach Blair about it earlier today. He wouldn't say much except they would not be available tonight.

As bad as Allen (2 of 13) and Smith (3 of 15) were against Shippensburg, they were as good against East Stroudsburg (10 of 17, and 11 of 23 respectively)

                      Until last night.

I noticed one of the officials shared the same last name as one of the ESU players. I wonder if there's a relationship or just coincidence.

Yeah, but not in the last decade.

Well, 2023 is not the last decade.

                            • So Ship is in the situation of actually wanting East Stroudsburg to knock off Millersville this afternoon. The Marauders are on fire, though.

It's all about getting as many home tourney games as you can now.

Ship needs to take care of business at Mansfield today to stay in the driver's seat. That wasn't an easy game at Ship, and Coach Fite is not crazy about Ship's matchups with the Mounties. The Millersville game Wednesday will be huge no matter what happens today. The Raiders end the season with a tough two-game stretch at Shepherd and home against Lock Haven. A cushion going into that definitely would be nice.
