Would be very surprised if IUP lost. Hurst doesn’t have the size to matchup with IUP. Plus the crowd will have a lot of IUP fans, so that won’t be a huge factor.

Well, it's not the end of the world if they lose on the road at Mercyhurst. It's going to happen sooner or later.

Ethan is a big key tonight. He took the day off Saturday (dressed but didn't play). So, hopefully that helps him tonight.

I like IUP to pull away in the final 5-10 minutes. But, it wouldn't surprise me at all to see Mercyhurst go bonkers tonight. They are certainly capable -- especially in that building.

I do agree on the fans. That's a very small gym with limited seating. The IUP crowd could easily make up 25% or 35% of that gym tonight. That's a huge, rare advantage for a road team to have that kind of support.

End of the day this is Round 2 for IUP/Mercy. My guess is they'll play at least one more time ... perhaps two more times.

I suppose it's possible, but hard to see that team losing twice in a week. Outside of Mercyhurst and UPJ, I just don't see much else in that division to give them any trouble.

Hurst does have some size. The first match up, IUP got the size in foul trouble.

Let's not forget Ethan is hobbled and Hurst knows this. I think they'll attack Ethan and try to wear him down. IUP needs his threat of the outside shot tonight. Hurst packs the paint so the outside shot will be key.

Pipeloluwa Ajayi got in immediate foul trouble at the KCAC. That won't likely happen again (at least not as fast) in Erie.

The IUP killer is always Aidan Reichert. That dude always has a big game against IUP. He's one of those 'smaller' bigs at 6'4" but built like a LB. They seem to focus so much on the others he always gets too much free roam.

There are some bulky guys with so mobility in the PSAC this season, and they have given Ship fits this season. Pepin and McAliley of ESU were a load, and Aiden Hughley of Shepherd created some problems. Tonight we get Jamir Manigo of West Chester, who can be a problem when he's on. West Chester is having a pretty good year, and with only two seniors might be a club to watch in the East next season if Damien can hold on to his players.

              • Ariel Jones is the best player in the PSAC, maybe all of Division II. But West Chester's Leah Johnson is pretty darn remarkable, too.

She takes the PSAC East showdown by the throat in the fourth quarter tonight, scoring 15 of her 32 points in that span as WCU knocks off Shippensburg 80-70 . The Rams pull within a half-game of Ship in the East.

Jones has 36 herself, but sits four minutes early in the fourth quarter with four fouls, and it proves costly. West Chester burned the Raiders on back-door cuts all night, and every time there was a big possession, Johnson stepped up.

In the nightcap, Ship comfortably holds WCU at arm's length throughout, wins 84-68. Carlos Carter has 22, Luke Nedrow 19, and the Raiders put all five starters into double digits while shooting 53 percent in the night.

You nailed in on the women's game. They have been more focused on defense this year, but tonight resorted to the matador defense we saw too often last season.

Who can figure out the men's division? So far East Stroud has owned Ship, and Ship has owned West Chester. It'll be an interesting stretch run.

Ironic that you put those phrases in the same post, as Manigo is no longer playing, although still appears on the roster.

And Lock Haven. What's up with that?

                            Yeah, I noticed last night.

Lock Haven has been pretty good all year. They have talent.

East Stroud at West Chester and Lock Haven at Millersville Wednesday, so at least two of the teams on Ship's heels will take a loss.
