Both. New website look, plus the 2017/18 schools are listed.

And if Notre Dame makes the jump...will the MEC go after AB?
My take is meh. Would love Ashland but nothing against NDC but if this is he case it would seem to suggest that the direction of the GMAC would increasely become more Ohio based, which I have heard discussed on here in the past. NCD makes sense, would help them with travel and would help GMAC schools there as well. But over all, meh.

Yes. I love the new website. Looks like the main logo is the same just changing the black "Midwest" in the middle to a blue "Midwest" in the middle. I like that change. However, not a fan of all of the new version which is a much more generic look as seen on top of the streaming page here: https://portal.stretchinternet.com/greatmidwest/ That thing looks like some elementary school kid put together. Also, when you scroll down on main page the traditional looking logo gets replaced with a more linear version which looks a little generic as well. That one could grow on me though.

That being said, from that page, it does look like the conference is putting together a Digital Network similar to what the GLVC does. That could be a good thing to increase exposure for G-MAC contests.

Its the new minimalist logo (and also the new empty blue/black box) that I don't like. Hopefully they are just alternate logos.

I was traveling the last two weeks, and didn't see until today that the logos I was referencing are much more prominent on the mobile version. If you were looking at the desktop version, you probably had no idea what I was talking about.

I'm now guessing that the second one (the really bad one in my opinion) is only for use with the Digital Network - similar to how the Big Ten Network and the SEC network have their own logos. I now notice a pattern that the only place I see that logo used is in reference to live streaming / Digital Network. And, when I tried to copy/paste it, you can see that it was actually joined to the Digital Network font.

Also, I agree with Buckeye, no problem at all with the minor change to the old logo:

quote from "G-MAC History" section of the website:

By count, M & W swimming/diving makes 22 sports. Wresting (as an emerging sport) makes 23. Not sure how they get to 25 champions (unless diving is considered the same sport, but has a separate champion?). Notable - "with a minimum six participating institutions". Does that mean that Men's Swimming/Diving is getting an associate member?

I am assuming they will have to bring in associate members or have the men's teams compete in another conference this season. Six teams is not really enough for a good conference swim meet but it's what he have right now for the ladies. Tiffin next season and possibly Ashland helps both next season.

The new programs coming in this season will really boost the conference profile, and attendance will increase in several Sports.

This entire conference is predestined. The conference officials, NCAA officials, programs coming in and out, everything about the G-MAC has been worked out for several years now. That's how it appears to me.

The G-MAC was setup to raid the GLIAC. When you see the next move from the GLVC, you maybe seeing a seismic tremor in D2.

Ashland will have a standing invite from the G-MAC. I think it's just a matter of timing. All things work together for the good......... Maybe, not for the GLIAC. That's going to make for some interesting competition between the current GLIAC members and the present day G-MAC extended family members.

I certainly love your enthusiasm! I agree, the next logical move is to raid the GLVC but I feel that it will be due to other teams leaving them and the GLVC making moves more toward west.

I like the new website. Solid improvement.

I really like that there is now a news feed that links to the main stories on the school websites.

The twitter feed now seems to only have items that were either posted or re-tweeted by the G-MAC. The old twitter feed was more wide-open (tweets from the individual schools showed), which I liked - however, the downside to the old way was that sometimes a school could overwhelm the feed by posting every score change. Also, with 13 schools, I can see the wisdom in letting the G-MAC be the gatekeeper.

I like the scrolling scoreboard. We will have to see what it looks like when games are in progress (will it have updated "live" scores?, or will you need to click on games in progress to go to the live feed?). Even if scores aren't "live", I still like the fact that past, current and future games are listed together chronologically. On the old site, "upcoming events" would transition to a different "recent results" section. The new way seems a lot smoother.

Blueframe vs Stretch - the Great Midwest Digital Network still says "Stretch" on it, and is the same format as it has been. However, there is an advertisement for Blueframe as well. Blueframe is who does the GLVC Sports Network, which people seem to like. We will have to see if Blueframe becomes more involved with the GMDN. Daeger is a GLVC guy and the offices are within walking distance of each other. They had a joint Christmas party this year. I guess its not surprising if the two conferences have similar vendor lists.

G-MAC vs Great Midwest - Interesting. I have no issues with G-MAC. I think it sounds solid. The only issue I can see is that sometimes people leave out the hyphen and then I guess we sound like the car financing company. I grew up in PA, with everyone saying Pee-Sack. G-MAC had none of those issues. I'm fine with Great Midwest too (just wish CU had this info before they stained "G-MAC" into the hardwood).

If Ashland does bolt, I am curious as to who the GLIAC would go after? Not much left in that general area. I have always thought that the GLIAC would be ok with mostly Michigan school although the loss of Hilsdale and Ashland hurt. (Hillsdale because it's a MI school and Ashland because of football)

The new site has some issues when looking at it on my iPhone but is still very solid. As for G-MAC or Great Midwest, I like saying Great Midwest when discussing and GMAC, sorry I don't do hyphens, when typing,

I like the logo at Cedarville. I'm sure they can rub two pennies together if they decide to change it.

I think there was a lot of input into the original name of the conference, and we talked about every aspect of the branding on this Board.

I think the students like G-MAC with a hyphen, so do I. Also, if you do not use the official abbreviation, you should refer to the G-MAC as the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.

The other two conferences in the Midwest Region have Great in their names. It represents the word greater as in the greater area of the Midwest.
