Apparently Wheeling Jesuit is having a pressed discussing their formation of a foot ball team. There were in my associate membership pool for swimming. What will everyone over there cry about now?

They'll probably go back to being mad at AB.

Picking up them and NDC for both swimming and wrestling would probably be about perfect.

          #FacePalm Yes, you're probably right. :)

Good for WJ... This is what I've been hoping for. I didn't want to see WJU leave the MEC and, potentially, see AB have to make a choice.

Bad news for AB... This may totally close the MEC schedule to conference games only. We may not have an opportunity to play the in state schools going forward. Oh well...

Hopefully not. At 11 teams, they chose to only play 9 conference games (instead of playing all 10 other teams only). Hopefully that line of thinking prevails. A little variety is nice.

Agree. Why beat up on each other year after year? Let the kids go to other places and experience new cities!

                Locations for 2017/18 Championships:

                Cross Country - Nashville, TN
Volleyball - not listed (traditionally in Mason, OH)
                Swimming - Canton, OH
                Indoor Track - Hillsdale, MI
                Tennis - not listed
Golf - stays in Mason, OH (likely Four Bridges)
                Outdoor Track - Hillsdale, MI
Softball - stays in Xenia, OH (likely AIA complex)
Baseball - not listed (traditionally Prasco Park)

                Observations
                - With Nashville and Hillsdale (x2) on the list, the WV schools have some traveling to do. Maybe one of the "not listed" championships will be in WV. I hope so.
                - Kind of surprised that Hillsdale got both track championships (I know CU traditionally hosted both, but I always assumed that was because it was centrally located and was the only school with facilities.)

In regards to he swimming championship, I know that both HS here in Fishers have been actively looking to host a college championship at our pools. Have talked with both the G-MAC and the GLVC.

I see ABjo posted that the MEC is looking at another new school! I would have thought hey would try to get AB back. Could the addition of football at WJ be the start of a summer of expansion?

Never said that new school isn't AB. Of course, I never said it is, either.

I feel like they overthought this. Like when a car manufacturer spends years designing a new model, and then 2 years later execs tell the designers they need to change the grill and taillights.

Maybe I'm just sore because Cedarville graphic arts came up with the original set of logos and the conference paid Old Hat Creative sports marketing agency for the new ones.

                          I still prefer the originals:

I can understand the reasons why AB might want to rejoin it former conference-mates. For the most part, that is what the OH schools have been doing.

That said, I hope AB stays. D&E (who has been a solid G-MAC member) would be the biggest loser if a move did occur.
