The WCC is instead going to have now the two teams that were going to play both face off in BYU and Gonzaga play each other, the last team to beat Gonzaga.
I wish there was more news on the why, especially with the travel distance. I'm curious if some of these may be local laws such as Santa Clara and Pacific last week which both played on Saturday, but in the state of California. I also remember a game earlier this year in the Pac-12 where the reason that was neither team, but that the ref's tests didn't come back in time to play the game.
If not positive tests with in Baylor's program, too bad this came out so late as I know both Baylor and Gonzaga still want to play that game from earlier this year that Covid in Gonzaga's program postponed. Gonzaga's conference doesn't play on Tuesdays, so it could have been a game that could have been played and Gonzaga already proved they will make games fast with the BYU game last week when both lost conference opponents. This could have been the perfect time to reschedule the game from December.
