Not sure what you mean by "staying in business." I don't think D2 football or basketball makes any money or ever has.

The same 10 teams dominate so is there really a problem. What sone want on here is exclusion because they deem most of the division inferior. It feels like 1980’s South Africa…D2 Apartheid.

This thread is getting dangerously close to discussing the real world, can we go back to fantasy world brackets please?

Your statement is a huge red alert to D2 football.

To make the entitled happy...expand the playoffs to 8 teams per region and rearrange the conferences in 3 and 4.

    Region 1
    Pee Sack - 16 teams
    MEC - 12 team
    GMAC - 9 teams
    NE 10 - 8 Teams

Total - 45 teams vying for 8 spots

    Region 2
    SIAC - 13 teams
    CIAA - 12 teams
    SAC - 12 teams
    GSC - 8 Teams

Total - 45 teams vying for 8 spots

    Region 3
    GAC - 12 teams
    MIAA - 11 teams
    LSC - 10 teams

Total - 33 teams vying for 8 spots

    Region 4

    NSIC - 12 teams
    RMAC - 10 teams
    GLIAC - 7 teams
    GLVC - 7 teams

Total - 36 teams vying for 8 spots

This gives the Midwest whiners in two regions more spots per capita.

    Yep.

Flip the NSIC and the MIAA region wise and the whining will go away.

All of the whining is because the MIAA (who doesn't play anyone OOC in the regular season...LAME) and the 6 team GLIAC (don't have 10 teams...no playoff bids should be a rule) are in the same region. Boo ****ing Hoo.

Who plays all of their playoff games at the same time (basically)? These games, especially the semis and title game, should be broadcast in ways that would capitalize on the good level of football in many of these matchups. Maybe different days of the week or something to get them on ESPN/2 or even ESPN+ like the FCS playoffs. FCS has a couple of matchups each playoff week on ESPN or ESPN2 but they may be on a Friday afternoon/night and the rest are on ESPN+.

Instead, the NCAA is allowing D2 to fall backward in coverage and promotion. I recall when the title game was always on ESPN or ESPN2. This year it was relegated to ESPNU.

I know you were talking flights and such, which I completely agree with, too. The NCAA has to find better ways to fund, operate, and promote the D2 Playoffs.

Would there be a statistically significant advantage to a team that plays 6 home games vs a team that plays 5 home games?
