I think that's right but who knows.
California is mind boggling. I just wish about 3-4 would get together and get back into the game. Menlo is joining NCAA, and Humboldt was a disaster.

    • Update Alert!

The PBC has announced the additions of Men's and Women's Track & Field Indoor as championship sports for 2023-24. The line-up will include Clayton State, Flagler College, South Carolina-Beaufort, the previously unannounced new teams at Lander, and affiliate member Embry-Riddle (FL). Embry-Riddle (FL) has been a PBC affiliate for Men's and Women's Track & Field Outdoor since 2017.

I anticipate four other conferences to add Men's and Women's Track & Field Indoor over the next three years.

Nah. I should have gotten it but I screwed up remembering Bryant.

When I saw the correction, my first guess would have been Franklin Pierce. I probably would not have gotten St. Anselm correct.

There is a great mythical west coast conference.

          Western Washington
          Central Washington
          Western Oregon
          Humboldt State
          Chico State
          Sonoma State
          San Francisco State
          Azusa Pacific

Agreed. Many of them had the sport at one time.

CSU-Dominguez Hills is where Dignity Health Sports Park is - which hosted the Chargers while SoFi was being built, so they'd have a facility (though I don't think they actually own it).

CSU-LA used to have a great football program in the 50's, 60's, 70's - I'd have to imagine there'd be some fan interest at least.

I think it has to do with administrations more than anything.

            • Update (just found this):

Add West Liberty Men's and Women's Tennis to the dropped teams list for 2023. It was announced in May that the two teams would be discontinued.

                  Update Continued.

The PBC has added Central State as a Men's and Women's Track & Field Indoor affiliate member for 2023-24. This gives the PBC 6 teams competing for the inaugural championship.

Humboldt did have some decent teams in a few seasons prior to disbanding the program, but towards the end, it was not pretty.

                    • Update!

Another dropped team for 2023. Dominican (NY) announced earlier this month Women's Golf to be discontinued immediately. The sport struggles to maintain teams in the region. Neither the CACC nor the ECC sponsors a championship while the NE10 just began a championship in 2014. The ECC has 0 teams, the CACC now has 2 teams, and the NE10 has 7 teams.

I feel bad for them. Always kinda like Oregon State because of colors and nickname.

SEC should add them SOLELY because of baseball. Although Beaver football is trending in the right direction. I think Smith is one of if not the best coach in the Pac 12

What men's sport will they add to meet D1 requirements? Are the nine women's sports enough to satisfy Title IX after the addition of the new men's sport and the additional football scholarships?

Matt's article says they will start by adding Track & Field and looking at other women's sports. UNA added women's golf and beach volleyball.
