It’s important to remember that Curt was significantly more limited in what he could do at a state D2 school, particularly in terms of his staff and other resources. He inherited the team when it was in one of its lowest points in decades. It’s also fair to say he was a first time head coach and IUP gave him the opportunity to learn some things that he undoubtedly does today. I think Curt did a great job at IUP. They were a play away from the national semifinals and probably a national championship game.
He needed to get the next opportunity and Elon gave it to him. Then he got his shot at JMU and found himself on the national stage. The rest is history.

It feels that way. They can win any type of game. We keep talking about this new era of college football and how coaches struggle with it, especially the older guys. And here’s a 64 year old who seems to have absolutely mastered it.Originally posted by iupgroundhog View Post
Do you get the impression that Curt has figured something out about the game of football that nobody else has?

He's probably picked up a few things along the way, and I believe he might have slightly more resources in the Big Ten.Originally posted by IUPNation View Post
Where was this **** from 2010 to 2016?
He was 6-6 vs Slimey Pebble and Mon Valley U?
KICKING ALABAMA'S BUTT. I don't think I've enjoyed a game as much as this one in quite some time. B1G is shutting up quite a few Big 12 and SEC knobheads today.

To make up for it, he needs to make a nice donation to Tort. Spend that Hoosier money….Originally posted by EyeoftheHawk View PostIt’s important to remember that Curt was significantly more limited in what he could do at a state D2 school, particularly in terms of his staff and other resources. Neither Louisville or SMU are terrible teams. SMU has a numberOriginally posted by IUPbigINDIANS View Post
Carson Beck is how. He can be one real sporadic dude.
of guys that were transfers from Miami from when Rhett Lashlee left his OC post (at least they did last year). And Louisville is not a “bad” team.
If Miami was in the SEC, nobody would blink if they lost to a bad Florida and Kentucky team.

The first two games today were absolutely hideous. Texas Tech was never in that football game despite their defense playing well for 30 minutes. They could barely reach 200 yards of total offense. James Madison scored 34 yards and had over 500 yards of offense on that Oregon team.
Congrats to Curt, but wow that game was ugly. Another non-competitive CFP game.
I’m just wondering where the outcry is from the talking heads and the average fan about non-competitive games they have to watch. And listen, I get it… It’s not the first round and the teams playing today won to get here. But let’s stop believing that the G5 inclusion is the issue. There’s just a ton of blowouts in college football. Always have been and always will be. Pump the professional model all you want, but this will never be the NFL.

Well it’s clear that 5 teams from the SEC is a joke. Alabamastan and Oklahomastan shouldn’t have been in it.Originally posted by IUP24 View PostThe first two games today were absolutely hideous. I’d just like people to acknowledge that there’s going to be routes, laughers, non-competitive games, blowouts, etc., regardless of who is in the field. That’s all I want people to acknowledge. It’s not the NFL.Originally posted by IUPNation View Post

It’s just people that are mostly wishing/hoping to see traditional teams from larger conferences who they perceive will be more competitive than somebody like JMU or Tulane. That’s the public outcry. You’d have thought JMU was the villain of college football for being invited. But they were more competitive in the first round than Texas Tech or Alabama were today. And those upset about JMU had no comments about two non-competitive games today.
