I will stick up for them but I don't think I'm too biased. I'm not saying they are going to win the East but they are turning some things upside down. Everybody said D2 can no longer get the D1 transfers. Even Tort, who is an ace recruiter, said that. LH is getting them.
Lock is much improved, remember last year they only lost to KU 7-3…Rumor has it they are up to 25 scholarships…with that transfer talent and a couple solid recruits by coach click I believe that number…Good road win with all the walking wounded…Tort now a very respectable 28-5 record as a road squad.

    Hilton Ridley - hamstring

Penn (WR) - yet to play this year

From the 'eye test' ... Monaco and Williams look like they are pretty close to making their season debuts. But, this could be a real hodge-podge lineup at Millersville this weekend. I suspect most of the list above will not play. With Houser out (likely for awhile) the time is now for Monaco. If not, the two true freshmen RBs will likely be making their first appearances.

I think IUP will be fine with Nico Marchitelli until Hunter returns. He looked completely different from a year ago -- and looked like a starting QB. Behind him, however, is a true freshman and a redshirt freshman. So, cross your fingers. With a week taking the top reps, Marchitelli will be good to go. His performance Saturday was incredible. It's not easy standing there for 2.5 quarters and then getting thrown in there -- against that defense - in a moments notice.
Williams coming back will be huge very good DL. Also true freshman Walker who also is close to being back off injury is supposedly just as good as the 2 true freshman who started last week. There DL of the future is going to be something to keep an eye on that’s for sure.

Sorry to see your QB get banged up. As I posted somewhere else, we've already lost the oft-injured Joey McCracken for what looks like a couple of games (looked like a shoulder injury and his arm was in a sling Saturday). Fortunately backup Sam Stoner has a good deal of game experience from subbing previously. I know there was some levity about Ship's musical quarterback situation the past couple of years, but in the era of the transfer portal this can go downhill very quickly. As you point out, if something happens to Marchitelli while your first-string guy is out, you could be down to a true freshman less than halfway through the season. As we know at Ship, that isn't fun. And if Stoner gets hurt behind a young offensive line, we're in the same boat again.

I think that's a product of the triad specialization. Music is focused at Mansfield. Also, remember that LHU had to send all of their Steinway pianos to Bloomsburg. Those were purchased from a gift from LHU alums.

Over the summer, the Commonwealth U. band traveled abroad and was comprised of members from all 3 schools.

One of the problems IUP has had in the recent past is growing and getting better as the season progresses. This is a positive spin but it could work out that the rash of injuries now forces them to get better as a team in the coming weeks. Add to that a favorable schedule (as compared to previous years) and I am optimistic. Of course, the big test is SRU (as always).

Yes, they are going to need Monaco. And I am anxious to see what the freshmen can do, too.

As I mentioned during the game, I like Marchitelli. I think he has the ability to exploit the capabilities of the receiving corps. Plus, he's a mobile, quick runner. I think IUP has 2 creditable starting QB's. You don't want to have to go there but the young QB's on the roster, while lacking experience, have strong upsides, IMO.

IUP is deep at WR. if Ridley isn't ready it probably gives Massey more snaps and he looks real good. They are also deep at TE. I believe Day is the back up there but he also looked good.

The defense is pretty good. LHU's O-line is pretty decent and IUP put a lot of pressure on the QB, although he is really elusive and managed to escape often, A couple of times he turned those scrambles into long completed passes.

Andrasi looks good so far. The final 38 yarder he made had a lot of extra distance on it.

Maybe they should bus in the Mansfield band.

    Not a bad broadcast production….

All in all I was pleasantly surprised by Lock Haven. It's a nice campus. Remote, of course. The stadium has the cool view. It must be immaculate in the Fall. Seating would be considered limited by most. I'm not a fan of no visitor seating although I'm not sure it would even be possible there. The restroom is one-at-a-time so that's a major issue on those packed nights. Parking is what it is ... you either pay for a spot in the (very small) VIP lot on top of the hill or you park below. You can then take the trolley or walk up the hill. The teams come on to the field and exit the field from the same spot. I could certainly see that leading to some issues.

It's a different experience attending a game there. I can't think of anywhere else similar.

They announced a crowd of about 4,500. Obviously that was a guess as admission was free and nobody was counting. But, it was a big turnout.

California's trip there this weekend is going to be very interesting. I think for the most part LH got out of the IUP game pretty healthy. If they clean up the undisciplined stuff and stay healthy they will be a tough out. Very physical team. The QB is similar (on a D2 scale) to Boston College's Thomas Castellanos (my opinion, anyway). IUP got to him several times but could have got him 5-6 more times. He's tough to actually catch and bring down. IUP really suffocated LH's run game.

Imagine when students would see it as a good opportunity and not need to be paid. Wishful thinking.

I think the position has been open for at least a month. It was kept very quiet.

Not sure if he quit or was let go.
