😆 I get the same feeling watching Shepherd play!

They all did last year, too.

Its somewhat of a toss-up, and those usually go to the home team, but...

The game will be a war. There will be a monster crowd at Miller Stadium. F SLIMY PEBBLE!

The Fighting Gym Teachers have played three warm bodies and the Walk On's who don't scare anyone.

IUP has seen some adversity already while Slimey has been on cruise control.

How many years in the last decade or so did we see IUP humming along after a few games and then hit the Slimey/Mon Valley U hurdles and come out wounded. So..nothing is a given.

This game conjures up the phrase "on any given day...". It all depends on which is the better team on October 1. Nobody really knows how this one will play out until they line up against each other on Saturday.

From what I've seen, IUP has some momentum building. I believe that (probably contrary to the opinions of many posters) this IUP team is humble. They have improved over the last few weeks and they've endured some adversity. SRU didn't impress me last Saturday. On the other hand, IUP has been trying to fill some holes, as well.

It should be a fun game. A lot of drama building.

Now, IUP won't get the gift this week like it got last year (SRU player running his mouth in the student newspaper) ... but, if we know one thing, Tort's teams play best when they feel disrespected. It's becoming clear most outside of Indiana feel SRU will win.

I agree with you on the adversity item. SRU hasn't faced any. The Rock is getting a whole lot of praise for beating up three tomato cans and a wobbly, sporadic West Chester.

That said, it's huge for IUP to start fast. I want to see how SRU handles getting punched back. Last year when they got punched in the mouth early they fell apart. Maybe they will handle it fine, but let's find out.

THE ROCK was only leading West Chester 14-7 at the half, both Millersville and Seton Hill each scored first in their respective games. THE ROCK played their worst game against Seton Hill.

Time will tell but I would put West Chester above East Stroudsburg in terms of strength of opponent, and Millersville is more competitive than in the past, and didn't Ship get blown out by a bad Bloom. I think each team opponents leave something to be desired.

Thanks for the correction. I picked Bloom in the pick em because Ship was down to QB3.

Ship won at Bloom, 31-17. Bloom scored 14 in the last quarter to make it appear closer than it was. I'm not advocating Shippensburg. They'll likely get beat up by all the top teams they see this year.

IUP did blow a big lead at ESU but also did so with 3 very important starters not dressed -- star RB (Stewart), star DL (Moore) and best DB (Howard). Not to mention, RB1-A (Houser) was knocked out very early in the game, star WR Lockhart was lost for the season in the first half and WR/KR Q. Carter was also knocked out of the game in the first half. I don't think a team can have any more adversity in one game. It's actually a small miracle they won that game -- not to mention a true freshman hitting the walk-off FG as time expired.

IUP was at times extremely sloppy at Shippensburg and probably should have scored 65 points. They played pretty well against a scrappy Mercyhurst team.

What does entice me is we still haven't see IUP near full strength this year. This Saturday will be the closest. It sounds like it's all hands on deck (aside from Lockhart ... out for season).

I don't know what happened to ESU out at Pace. There's no explaining that one. But, that's not a bad team. I think they'll get one of the Big 3 in the East this year. At full strength IUP wouldn't have needed a walk-off FG to beat them, but, they have some nice weapons. It will be a real good game when they play West Chester.

Regardless, I'd be very nervous putting any real coin on this game Saturday -- either way.

I was going to set it at 3.5 (I'm not going to say which way).

But, I just left it as an even pick.

Last year, about 85% picked SRU in the Pick 'Em. It's not that lopsided yet but we'll see as the week goes along. Of course, Vegas would have had SRU at least a 7-point favorite last year (maybe more).

The Rivers Casino Sportsbook probably could carry this game. They've ran a few D2 playoff games in the past. They would get some minor action.
