The IUP men's side came in first with an average of 12.75. The ladies, however, finished with just an 8.95 average.

As mentioned on here (once or twice), IUP won four conference titles (men's golf, football, men's basketball and women's tennis).

Women's swimming and baseball also contributed 16 points apiece.

I noted that huge discrepancy a couple of weeks ago. As Nation noted, IUP wins the "big boy" sports and doesn't pay attention to the "hopscotch and jump rope" programs. Not to mention, all schools have more women's sports than men's sports, so the Dixon is inherently biased towards women's sports. Damn that Title IX. This is all sarcasm, of course.

P.S. - There should be an accompanying Big Boy Sports trophy. I'm sure the PSAC membership would approve it, maybe unanimously. That might keep everybody happy.

      • Not Fake Dixon related but Walk On U Ladies Lacrosse is getting hammered in the National Title Game..The Lake Show is now inbtge Mens Lacrosse National Title Game and East Dennyburg Ladies Softball is in the National Round.

Shouldn't this all count in the Fake Dixon. I’d say so.

        • LIT AF leads this year after the fall. Shockingly IUP is fourth despite having a sub par season in my book.

          • The Dixon Trophy?

I'd forgotten that was still a thing.

Hey, we still have indoor track, outdoor track, railroad track and academic track, amirite?

              • LIT AF wins the Dixon Trophy again.

How IUP was fourth is mind boggling considering the bad year. The one year we should be way down the list we come in behind the three schools that had good years.

                • After the fall..not surprisingly The Fighting Amish lead the pack. East Dennyburg is 2, Walk On U is 3 and IUP at 4.

Be easy on the Amish. They cook in athletics, now dominating softball tournaments around the country. I have some land in the middle of nowhere Indiana County with many Amish neighbors and you wouldn’t believe the softball field they built out there. It’s probably the best in the county. I saw something I thought I’d never see a couple weeks ago as about 20 of them were at the bowling alley knocking down pins like it was their job. If we could get them into sports at the rural high schools they’d probably dominate!
