There should be an annual battle of the mediocre Catholic D2 football programs. Someone have Gannon schedule Walsh.

Well, Gannon travels to Charleston on Aug. 31 (Week 1), so there's that, I guess.

I remember when you could have a pretty good idea of the Fall depth chart by the time the Spring Game ended.

Hell, now it just starts another portal cycle (inbound and outbound).

D1 and D2 will again be flooded with new transfers starting next week.

            Spring games seem pointless.

Well, it has a lot of value for those trying to prevent the staff from going shopping the following week. But, yes, at many D2 schools the Spring rosters are so small it's hard to really have any semblance of a 'game'.

Just having a spring camp with drills and such seems enough. I agree they should have something but an actual game seems pointless because as you say there are more comings and goings before summer camp.

Some schools use it as an engagement piece. Parents and alumni come. Recruits invited. Tailgate party, locker room tours, etc. Slip does a golf outing for alumni.

That’s interesting as Gannon played CU at home last year.

What’s funny is Charleston has a large stadium and LIT AF plays on a practice field with tiny bleachers.

My mistake... Gannon is at Charleston. I guess the tipoff should've been the Thursday night game time.

The new scheduling alliance by the SAC and MEC is going to hurt options wise for the PSAC. The NE10 and GMAC will be the only options in terms of local, and then most will have to look to the GLIAC or CIAA perhaps for that week 1 game.

There was a proposed alliance with the WVIAC/MEC and the PSAC several years ago that went nowhere because I believe the WVIAC/MEC didn't want to adjust their schedule to have Week 1 be the bye week.

Or you can go SILO and add a fourth crossover.

That makes way too much sense.

What's the difference. The top teams rarely schedule each other. For every IUP vs Ashland there are 45 Cal vs AB type games.

I know fans like to see other opponents but scheduling is a nightmare -- especially when you are limited to Week 1.
