To Mercyhurst's credit, the fact that they've seemingly met this benchmark only 2 years into their transition seems to indicate that they're trying to make a concerted effort to become competitive in D1. However, to your credit, I doubt that alone will make them immediately competitive, so they'll probably continue to be an easy win for most opponents.
I do have to wonder why they keep taking away games so far west though. Is it a money thing, or are they just having that hard of a time finding opponents east of the Mississippi?

$275,000 for Montana State: https://406mtsports.com/college/big-...a593f37bf.html
$260,000 for Sacramento State: https://fbschedules.com/sacramento-s...ball-schedule/
Quick $535,000 right there.

What's left after the costs are deducted?
It's obviously not cheap to fly a football team to California, etc.

Just shared this on the basketball forum, but the Frostburg to the PSAC theory got more complicated on Friday when their president passed away.

Like I said, it's Ohio so don't rule out someone like the Tressel family donating big cash to start another college football program.

I think that's part of the move. A few years ago the university purchased a really cool old stadium that sits on the river. Way back the town had a pro football team that played in this stadium but moved and renamed as the Detroit Lions. But it's been sitting vacant for years and needs a lot of updates.

It needs a lot of sonething. The concrete on street view of the home side is in need of repair. I mean if they fixed it up it would be fine. It has a historical market by the street.
