I'm sure. Every time I do look after work they have already shut it down before 6. I guess that means they are on schedule?

Was the plan to pour concrete on the North hill all along? It didn't look like it in the renderings, but I noticed last night they have covered the North side with concrete

From a D2 perspective, things are quite rosey for WT.

Regardless of who the coach is, your max attendance for a typical D2 game is 10-12K. There are only a handful of D2 games per year that draw even that. More likely it is 2 to 3 thousand.

With no competitors around and sitting in an MSA of 275K with another 200K surrounding, WT will always draw more than the vast majority of D2 schools even if they suck. Their very worst turnout will still equal the D2 national average most likely.

          Big fish, little pond.

I don't think it's any surprise that attendance is down across the country for college football. Television ratings are going up, you can get a good view at your house on your TV. I streamed almost every WT away game and put it on my 50 inch TV at home.

Regardless that is a drop in attendance for WT and the administration had to plan for that. Kimbrough was said to seat 20k but even during the Carthel years it was half empty the majority of the games. The new stadium seats 8500 with up to 12k if they sit on the grass berm but should WT ever need the space it is designed to expand to around 15k. I would rather have a stadium that is full with overflow seating than to sit at a half empty stadium that is full every several decades.

And yes the stadium does fit a budget, WT cannot afford to spend $200 million on a new gigantic stadium. But why would they if they don't need the capacity.

College football, especially DII, gane attendance #'s are hogwash. It would only be significant if every institution used a universal system to accurately count attendance.

How much more will you be spending on the BS each year versus Kimbrough?

It's going to save me a lot, as I will be streaming all games.

Several well-researched studies have been done in the last year and articles written about college football attendance. Virtually across the divisions, football attendance, has fallen. Even the Big Boys are seeing a lot of empty seats. The way attendance is counted.......well, how many times have we watched say South Carolina play Presbyterian and our lying eyes see 25,000 in the stands. Then we see 42,000 is the announced attendance. All too often.

Yes Sir, agree 100%. In DII, especially the LSC, some institutions greatly exaggerate their attendance #'s. This is done for many reasons, but most importantly to keep the big donor and sponsor dollars flowing.

Just type this into your search engine:
"why do sports teams exaggerate attendance"

You should find plenty of articles to keep ya busy reading.

Attendance numbers mean squat to anyone in the know..... basically, it's to "fool the fools".

Television ratings for football are generally headed down, not up.
