In other hockey news - the NCHC welcomes it's newest member in St. Thomas as their CCHA tenure is now officially over.

I doubt anyone on campus will notice or even care.

With Dartmouth beating Princeton, Augie's pathway to the Denny is in the hands of UCONN. Unfortunately losing to Merrimack in the second.

Michigan also has to beat Ohio State.

The continued shunning of the Mavericks by the NCHC has become the equivalent of the "why did the chicken cross the road" joke. It'll go on forever. Clearly they belong, but someone or something just doesn't accept it.

My theory is that the NCHC wants D1 members. Yes, there are two D2 (SCSU and UMD) and D3 Colorado College. But CC was a founding member because Denver was taking them along. And Duluth is a top tier program. St Cloud wasn't invited until Notre Dame decided to go to Hockey East.

I had no idea Augie had enough money to keep a hockey coach from bolting to the Gophers. They must have some serious boosters.

Having said that, I am amazed the Summit doesn't want them given SDSU and NDSU will both eventually leave and so will St. Thomas. 3 less teams with no new ones will be a challenge for the Summit
