Top 2 seeds get a Round 1 bye.

Gannon already has the No. 1 seed clinched.

Cal and Edinboro are going to battle it out for the second bye.

If I am not mistaken, I think that the second place team also gets a first round bye; hence the comment about "that Round 1 bye is huge".

It's going to be an interesting week. Who is getting invited? More importantly, where are they getting seeded? With the 'parity' this year -- and everybody beating everybody -- that Round 1 bye is huge.

    This week's schedule:

    Wednesday

Slippery Rock at Edinboro - Huge, tough week for the Scots. SRU is on fire again. A weekend trip to Angelo's Dome is never easy.

California at IUP - Big game for both. Cal needs that Round 1 bye. IUP needs a win.

Pitt-Johnstown at Seton Hill - Massive game for both ... loser is in serious trouble.

    Friday

IUP at Clarion - The Crimson Hawks oddly hammered the Golden Eagles in Round 1. The sequel figures to be much closer - perhaps a 'play-in' game.

    Saturday

Seton Hill at Gannon - Revenge game for the Knights.

Edinboro at California - Depending how Wednesday goes, this could have second place (and the bye) on the line.

With two games left in the season and Gannon having a four game lead in the loss column, don't think there is any way Cal can get the top seed.

Good to hear as I was only reacting to what others had posted. Now living out of the area, I have never met Mr. Bazzoli but friends of mine echo what you have stated. Just wondering about his issues with his fellow PSAC coaches and what these impressions are based upon? Again, my friends have indicated that he is pretty approachable..........just the opposite of Slocum.

It's not up to the league...Bloomsburg routinely flips the schedule, with the Men playing first on any given play date.

What's ironic is about half the McKenna Center left after the women's game last night. So, it was obviously clear the women's game was the main attraction.

That was as hostile of a women's atmosphere as I've ever seen. It was great for the home team.

Interesting lineup tonight ... not the easiest games to bet.

Pitt-Johnstown at California - Like most of the West, UPJ has a good game, followed by a bad game, followed by a good game, followed by a bad game. One of those 'good games' came against these Vulcans. The Mountain Cats put up 105 on Danny's team last month. Fast forward and UPJ is fresh off getting hammered by Slippery Rock. Both of these teams can light it up from outside (or, stink it up). This won't be one for you defense lovers. Cal is pretty hot -- and in Angelo's Dome. Vulcans -5.5

IUP at Seton Hill - The Main Event, of course, is the first (ladies) game. Too bad the league can't flip the starts. Regardless, this should be a pretty good rematch. Both teams play well -- and bad -- in stretches. The Crimson Hawks won the first meeting with a buzzer-beating, walk-off 3-pointer. It was a physical, low-scoring game. Expect the same tonight. The outcome, however, may be different. Dorothy isn't in the KCAC, anymore. Joe's young team struggles - big time - on the road. They are walking in to a claustrophobic hornets' nest tonight. Griffins -3.5

Clarion at Slippery Rock - The Golden Eagles lit up The Rock last month inside Tippin. SRU is pretty tough in Morrow. Picking this SRU team, however, would have most gamblers broke this season. The lineup is different each game. The dress list is, too. The Rock can be really, really good -- at times. Morrow makes the difference tonight. SRU -4.5

    Bonus

IUP at Seton Hill (Women's) - Tough to take much from the first meeting. IUP only dressed (8) players and (2) of them were walk-ons. Somehow, the Hawks were in a tie game with 60 seconds to play. Most importantly tonight for IUP, Nyshae' Weaver is playing after missing the January game. These two may play 1-2 more times this year. The Griffins don't lose much in the McKenna Center. It will be a tough road environment. Vegas says PICK 'EM

I know some fans gave been rubbed the wrong way by him, but in general he's liked. He's very direct and keeps to a schedule.. putting it nicely

The other key item here is the 'human' vote. They don't all like one another. From what I've heard, GU's new coach isn't exactly popular among the West coaches. Of course, Joe isn't, either.

What I'm getting at is these awards can often result in some animosity voting.

    Regardless, long way to go.

Historically, they do tend to get them right (usually).

Both of the above-mentioned players are worthy (as of now).
