    UPDATED MEN'S STANDINGS

    -
    TEAM PSAC OVERALL STREAK
    GANNON 9-1 15-2 W2
    CALIFORNIA 9-1 12-5 W1
    IUP 7-2 11-3 L1
    SETON HILL 7-3 13-5 W1
    SLIPPERY ROCK 6-4 13-5 L2
    CLARION 5-5 10-8 W3
    EDINBORO 4-5 8-8 L2
    PITT-JOHNSTOWN 4-6 10-8 L1
    -

    NOTES:

    * There's a headliner game in Erie Wednesday night. Daemen (currently ranked No. 2) visits Gannon.

    * IUP is now a wounded animal - both physically and perhaps mentally after its poor showing in Erie this past weekend. Two better-than-their-record opponents await this week (Edinboro and a trip to Clarion). Massive week for the potentially short-handed Crimson Hawks. If IUP is without Bautista Rodriguez, it could mean the the 1-2-2 press gets put on the shelf.

    * Slippery Rock played again this past weekend without Maceo Austin. Making matters worse, Ike Herster also missed the Rock's blowout loss at Seton Hill.

    * Clarion has won (3) straight and has a bye Wednesday prior to IUP's visit. The Golden Eagles are a good team and played a very tough non-conference schedule.

    * Seton Hill star PG Dimitrios Sklavenitis returned after missing a couple games. With him, the Griffins are very solid. Without him, not so much.

    * California has a much-needed night off Wednesday prior to traveling to Morrow Field House this Saturday. The Vulcans have been playing (6) players and looked a step slow in their narrow defeat of Edinboro (82-77).

    * Pitt-Johnstown is probably the best 'last place' team in PSAC West history.

I cant imagine any Gannon home game being "packed" any time soon. Even when they hosted the Atlantic Regional 2 years ago.. they couldn't pack Hagerty either. I feel the college basketball interest in Erie is gone. Active fans attend, players families and friends.. and thatd about it. Playoffs they'll get maybe 100 randoms more.

Unfortunately with the renovation the Bleachers just got worse.

Yes, Ship has played SH in non-con in the recent past.

It actually helps instead of wasting time taking a D3 game (which does nothing to help metrics).

Instead of playing PSU Who-Cares, schedule an East West non-con. I like it.

Obviously the Catch 22 is some years you draw easy games. Some years you don't.

I see that they lost to Ashland (not conference) and West Chester (who is in the East), so that shouldn't impact the West standings, right?

    Thank you,

Seriously, what do you expect tomorrow??? ESU is playing well against the lesser teams in the East.
Well, nobody is claiming a 7-9 Ship team is a powerhouse. When they've shot at a decent rate, they've shown the ability to hang with most teams, including last-minute losses with Seton Hill and Millersville and an away win over a decent Clarion team (which ended Cal's 10-game winning streak this week). But when they go cold, they all seem to go cold at once, resulting in some ugly stretches of basketball. I have no idea what to expect Saturday. It could be a good game if the Raiders of Tuesday night against Millersville show up. If the Raiders of Thursday night show up, it likely would be East Stroud in a rout.
