Here in the Yinzerlands they opened a casino (several years back now) at Westmoreland Mall (Greensburg). It BOOMS. Every day of the week. It has nice bars, a Guy Fieri (overpriced) restaurant, cool bars, etc.
The one in Pittsburgh near the Steelers stadium can be pretty sketchy at night. In turn, the one in Greensburg is making a killing.
I do wonder how the two in WV are doing now that these have opened in PA. I can't imagine very well compared to years past.
I'd rather just go out in my driveway and burn $2,000 or so and call it a day. Save the gas.
As Ace Rothstein famously said ... the players have no chance. In the end, they get it all.
BTW, I''ll be in Shippensburg here in a couple weeks. I plan to hit up the University Grille once again. Great stop.

A lot of rural PA voters choosing MAGA and right wing media positions over actual issues that affect them. The party of George HW Bush and Bob Dole is long gone. Eisenhower would be a Democrat today. Conservative media successfully converted that part to the right wing populist party. Ever notice that you never hear much about the deficit anymore? The goal isn't to be correct, its about defeating the opposition to be in power.

Another PA private school struggling. Harrisburg University is one that often flies under the radar even in central PA.

Well, they certainly haven't been under the radar in Harrisburg area media in recent years. They probably get about as much attention as any of the PASSHE schools here. At a time you don't see any coverage of Ship or Millersville sports on local media, there was so much publicity about the Harrisburg U. e-sports team a couple of years back that I was getting tired of hearing about it.
I have only met one person in my career who has any affiliation with them - and it was the son of an HU professor.

Commonwealth school has an expected deficit of $28 million, up from the projected $10 million in Feb.. That includes 160 job vacancies that won't be filled. Staffing has dropped from 2,460 in 2017 to 1,564 now. Projections are another $16.2 million shortfall next year.
The good news Bloomsburg's dorms will be near capacity for the first time since 2017. More freshman enrolling.
