Carthel appears to be the only HC currently in the running with a proven record of consistently winning. That may be a clue. He seems to be the safe bet because the others are assistants who would have to assemble staffs. Plus, the time it takes to adjusting to the role of HC.

I thought at the time with him being the only HC with a staff in place vying for the job was a giveaway clue. Guess my gut was right.

We will probably just fold up the program I'm guessing. Lol What kind of a question is that?

Wouldn't be surprised to see an internal hire, if not, it'd be tough to find a better d2 position, we might have a few applicants to look over ;)

Um....not sure what "fans" are saying, but Colby was the choice from the get go. Traylor "pulled out" to save face.

The only concern was about previous issues surrounding Carthel from ONE big $ donor....which was resolved (obviously).

How do I know??? That donor is in my investment group.

Im not disagreeing with anything anyone says about this. I get your points and they are solid and valid. Also, you should be assured that wheels are turning here to do what we can to keep him around (read counteroffer). I guess we will see.

I'm just saying I don't think he goes there. I don't have any secret inside info, I'm just piecing things together in my head and there's more to it than a paycheck.

Well. I can understand the strong desire and wishful thinking to keep the man who built last years NC team. But it wasn't in the cards.

You had a great run....but all good things always come to an end. I suspect TAMUC will remain competitive for several years, but that 2017 Beast Team was a rare occurrence. Best of luck to the Lions moving forward.
