No clue. Spain's digital nomad visa they launched last year was perfect for us 100% remote workers. Been a pretty great 15 months here so far, makes following D2 football a bit tougher though I'll admit.

I work remote with the VA but they would have a cow if I even tried to take my laptop on an international flight, much less try to work remote overseas. LOL.

I visit Europe a couple of times per year and watching D2 games at 3am is not what I do in Europe.

I’m also on ships a lot and the streaming frequently fails so I miss more games than I would like.

I love Spain, I’ve been to many ports and have liked them all.

Well when you live here it's a bit different than what you do with your time spent while on vacation, it's just life. I typically only catch any of the noon/early afternoon start time games for D2 though which are 20:00-22:00 starts for me. If you're ever in my area with some free time feel free to reach out.

Right now we will be good to keep the sports that we have. Enrollment is inching down - as it is at most schools around the country, big and small - so WT will somehow have to counterbalance decreasing student fees income.

As a side note, my biggest concern is WT's enrollment. It's not declining like at a lot of schools in the LSC, but it would sure be nice to see that stabilize and start growing again. While I think Walter Wendler has had some screw-up moments, he personally went out and recruited Lipinski and talked him into coming to WT. Lipinski did not apply for this job. Wendler jumped on a plane and flew to Grand Rapids to meet with him. He went for the very best he could get, understanding the importance of this position. He has to be laser-focused on the enrollment situation. The "free textbooks" deal is legit.

There is so much momentum going on at WT in terms of curriculum and new construction, the worm has to turn at some point. A&M's veterinary and animal science presence is real and growing, nursing, engineering, music, education, and business are strong. The "new" education building is going to be a show-stopper. The Bain athletic complex is impressive. Amarillo is growing in every direction.

Sorry for the side rant.

My side note: the state legislature is sitting on $32B in surplus tax funds, while local school districts (and higher education-UT and TA&M excepted) are struggling to deal with inflation.

Would you ask for a small incremental increase in the athletic fee to cover the inflation expense?

Either way the spotlight is going to be on football and I think Wendler in his own way (willingly or not) has acknowledged it.

This is going to be blunt but pretty soon the old farts that care the most about football and supporting arent going to be around much longer and the newer generation are not going to have the same enthusiasm supporting if the football program continues to struggle.

Football is still king and will bring in the money.
