Ok, 3rd practice for me. Full pads.

QB Sean Johnson was with the 1's. He continues to impress. Made several good throws. His improved progress passing since the spring game is very evident. He was on target with the short outs, some mid-levels, and hit 2 long sideline TD's on the outside shoulder. Plus his legs are a threat on every play. He scored from the 10 on a QB draw and on a 30 yarder RPO going to his left.

His passing may have improved because his receivers got better. They were awful in the spring. I have listened to a couple of interviews with Lynn now and he has both times how they upgraded that position. I am hearing the transfer from Tarleton is having a good camp.

I'll ask about the Swoboda kid from Tarleton so I can focus on him. His bio says he played 3 years at Quachita Baptist and 1 year at Tarleton. He was a productive player at Quachita.

Yes. I talked with a former player now a GA. Life happened. He is a new father and returned home.

QB Cannon Gibson was running the 2's. Solid. Good passer. No slouch when he has to run it.

QB Knox Porter, Fr from Celina, was with the 3's. Made some very good throws. Not the runner Johnson or Gibson is.

CWU Transfer RB Henderson is on the first team. Looks good.

WRs made some good catches. Look much better than last season. More depth better playmakers. Freshman Trace Clarkson, 6'3 190 Aledo, especially stood out. Always seemed to get open. Made 2 tough contested receptions, 1 for a goal-line TD over the middle from the 10. Johnson threaded it into the window perfectly. I know, I was right there just outside the end zone. Don't be surprised to see Clarkson make an impact. Coach Lynn called him out for praise at the team end-of-practice meet.

During OL vs DL challenges, I'd say the DL won 40%, OL 30%, 30% draws.

LB should be a strength. Cavender and the Kearney transfer are studs.

No idea about him other than what the UNK guys have said.

The 2nd year was definitely a round peg in a square hole scenario, though. Held chucked 2 great option type running QBs into a pass heavy spread O.

I tried looking for McCoy-Gay in the transfer portal and other places and couldnt find anything.

Hopefully its just an oversight and he is still with the Buffs.
McCoy-Gay's numbers were very good in the first 3 games, but except against WNMU, he had little success the rest of the year, and didn't play against ENMU in the finale.
