In a sense yes but not really true until 2024?

Reason I say that is because several teams have gaps later in their conference schedules this year where Upper Iowa and Lincoln were.

It becomes exponentially harder to find non conference games after the third game of the season in the middle of conference schedules.

The only dropdown feature available to Javelinas is to transfer to tamuccsux.

Welcome back to the playoff discussions.
Kingsville did a lot better with their non-conference schedule this year. And according to the school's website, West Georgia was scheduled on a two year home and home basis, so they are going to be back on the schedule in 2024.

West Georgia looks like they have a strong program recently. Good thing it's a home game for Kingsville in 2023. They can use that advantage since they are still rebuilding.

Good moves all around. Hopefully Kingsville will do good. We will have a much better idea of how good Kingsville is much earlier in the year in 2023.

C'mon bud. Even LSC Fan could come up with better comebacks than this.

You guys will have to be put on suicide watch if Kingsville merges with Corpus but is forced to take the name and mascot of TAMUCC.

Totally agree. Even if Kingsville loses that game they will get some good SOS points from that game.

It's almost like the AD snd HC resign to the fact that they will not win the LSC Championship and will not make the play-offs, so might as well take a $ game to help offset Texas travels.

Might be some truth to it.

If a team can break away from the 6-5 mediocre muck then they will have a great shot behind Angelo for a second playoff spot.

I know their location does them no favors but scheduling the western RMAC teams would cut down on a lot of that travel.

Colorado Mesa would have been a good get but Kingsville got that game.

Ironically Central Washington campus is 250 miles closer to the Colorado Mesa campus than the Kingsville Campus is to Mesa.

                        Agree.

Seems like last year was Angelo far ahead at top, then 6 teams basically equal in tbe middle, then 3 bottom dwellers WT, ENMU, SFU. I expect a more clear 3 tier this season. 3 top teams, 4 middle teams, 3 bottom teams.

                        • SFU has dropped football, effective immediately. All LSC teams lose a game:

Time to scramble for more games if its possible. Wonder if WT will try to get a FCS game, D2 games, bye week.

That will royally screw Central Washington and Western Oregon over if they are competitive for a playoff spot.

Sul Ross slides into that spot. Who else is coming to the LSC??

                            • Just a random thought.

With Simon Fraser dropping football, this could open up opportunities for non conference games with the MIAA.

Line up the weeks and teams where Lincoln, Missouri and Simon Fraser were scheduled that same week.

                              • Angelo State had Simon Fraser in Week 6 (October 7th). According to this website (https://www.d2football.com/opendates/) they could potentially have a playoff f rematch with Semidji on that date; or New Haven.

Curious to see what other schools do with these open dates, especially the ones oater in the year.
