Predictions for each NSIC team’s win total: Based on their volleyball schedules, it seems some teams may not realize that non-region games won’t help regional rankings or perhaps they do realize it, but simply needed to fill the schedule or the regional rankings don't matter. Either way, Jamestown, you do you.

Football - 0 best shot SW
Volleyball - 6-9 wins
Women's Soccer - 4 wins
Men's Basketball - 6-8 wins
Women's Basketball - 4 wins

If these five teams get above 20 wins in the NSIC, consider the 1st year a success IMO.

If Southwest loses to Jamestown, it's a sad state of affairs of the football program. Minot's offense is very hard to defend. They could beat Mary.

Soccer: I won’t pretend to have an educated guess. But based on a little digging, my guess for NSIC wins is 3

volleyball - where they will be competetive - 6 (6-12) which is not terrible
women's hoops - 4
mens' hoops - 2 -- even if they are solid its a huge jump and they don't have the same athletes they have in volleyball by comparison - I mean even the lower tier men's hoops teams are not easy wins.

Jamestown’s NAIA identity was built on winning and making it to nationals. Those days are gone. Moving forward, they’ll need to figure out how to compete consistently and at least make regionals in certain sports, otherwise, they risk becoming the private school version of Crookston. Football seems especially unlikely to ever be competitive. How often was Minot or Mary competitive. North Dakota simply doesn’t have enough football talent, and making it work would require either overscholarshiping/NIL or have Minot’s niche offense. veer?

Right, but how are they going to attract students? Will they field teams or be competitive? Will donors continue to support losing teams?

20 wins might be a stretch with their Crookston 2.0 approach. I'll fill you in on VB match on Saturday, may or may not adjust the win totals on the report.

Is it fair to judge a school's entire Division II worthiness based on their first foray at the level?
