Did you watch the game??? IUP ran the score up on their bench to start the game. St. Thomas didn't start any of their regulars. The second half was a mess! They had well over 20 turnovers in the game. That's not the time to empty a bench. Secondly, other than Triggs, who do they put in??? Pickens wasn't on the bench today.Originally posted by crimsonhawkmom View PostGood game, but not sure why so many guys barely got in the second half?

Thought you guys had a deep bench this year? Is Joe up to his old tricks of going the season with a 6 or 7 player rotation while the rest of the team gets splinters?Originally posted by IUPalum View Post

Why did St Thomas do that? I forgot the start time and by the time I turned it on IUP was up 16-4. There was no mention on either school’s game recap other St Thomas mentioning their “bench” outscored IUP’s 57-19. I didn’t watch the 2nd half. And here I was thinking they looked really good against an opponent that’s usually pretty solid.Originally posted by IUPalum View Post

There was no mention why they did it. All Tony said is that they aren't starting their normal 5.Originally posted by Chuck Norris View Post

Yes, Joe is up to his usual tricks. He played 8 guys yesterday and one of the guys off the bench absolutely sucks!!! Luke Triggs got 2 minutes yesterday and was the 9th guy but I don't consider that part of the rotation. Alfonso Pickens wasn't even on the bench yesterday and no word why.. Joe is also redshirting Tasso Sfanos that was a really good player for Carolina Beaufort last year which played in the WL style. I just don't get it???Originally posted by boatcapt View Post

There is another regular IUP poster that is refusing to post because he's so pissed off at Joe's BS. We're tired of him playing favoritism towards guys like KJ (now a bench coach) and Sarp. These players aren't D2 winners and would barely play at the D3 level. Enough is enough!!!

That’s bizarre. I just read Tony’s substack article and there was no mention of it. I don’t know if he gets any access to the opponent’s coach or if the guy would have told him anything if he had.Originally posted by IUPalum View Post

More basketball news:
What happened with Alfonso Pickens? He suited up the first 4 games, not on the bench the last two then taken off the roster. I saw he graduated Saturday but there has to be more to this story. No way Joe knowingly eats a roster spot for 6 games. What's the REAL story here???
Joe now only has 9 "active" players on the roster. I guess 10 if you count Watson but we all know he has no intention of playing him. Will he activate Sfanos? Are we stuck with more Sarp? Please no! Triggs, what's his role?
Speaking of Triggs, he made the Indiana Gazette last week. Guess he felt like taking a piss on Philly Street. hahaha

No! Terrible game at a terrible time and we're sick of Joe's crap!Originally posted by Chuck Norris View PostWow this boycott of Joe (Joecott?) is the real deal. Granted the schedule has been pretty light the last few weeks, but man.
Anybody stoked for today’s 5pm tip against Mansfield?

I believe Tony’s substack has switched over to one requiring payment. I may need to pony up. It’s certainly a good deal for the high quality coverage.Originally posted by IUPalum View PostMore basketball news:

If I had to guess I’d say Pickens quit over a lack of playing time. It was probably a decision made easier having a degree in hand. Now he can get on with his life’s work or transfer elsewhere as a graduate. But this is IUP, a more salacious hidden story is always possible.
Poor Triggs. Once you break that seal it can be tough to hold out if you’re not near a toilet.

Tony hasn't written about any of this yet or maybe he won't. I don't know but the Pickens thing is news and should be reported. Triggs, well, we've all been there but some of us smart enough to hide when doing it. lolOriginally posted by Chuck Norris View Post

Same old Joe? I am really bored at work and happened to be looking at this season's stats. Through seven games, Dallis Dillard is leading the team with 30.1 minutes per game. Did you know...that's the fewest minutes per game for a leader in that category for IUP since the 2004-05 season? Eddie Peterson averaged 28.0 mpg that year for the 24-9 team formerly known as the Indians.
Context 1: It's only been seven games. Dallis is also coming off a knee injury and spent all of last year on the shelf, so it's reasonable to believe he's on some sort of pitch count before conference play starts.
Context 2: That 2004-05 team had six guys average at least 21 minutes a game. (Note: This year's team has six guys averaging at least 21 minutes a game.)
Still, it's the least top-heavy Joe has gone in his rotation in his entire tenure here. Compare that to 2015-16 when Devante Chance averaged 38.0 mpg (including 17 games of 40 minutes or more out of 38 total games). Joe recently has loved to grind his point guards from tip to buzzer. Maybe an old dog has learned new tricks.
