I think he was being a tad sarcastic.

I don't think anybody knows what to expect from Redshirt Joe and the gang this year.

I think a ton hinges on the ACL recoveries of Dallis and Denzel. If they are good to go, I think IUP will bounce back pretty quickly. They'll be different for sure. But, they will have a very strong guard group and (for now) at least serviceable bigs. Joe will have a tremendously faster lineup.

They REALLY need one more post player, however. I'm not talking a project or a true freshman or a 6'10" guy who looks good in warm-ups and then cheerleads all game. Joe needs a Day 1 post player added.

I 'think' I know who it is going to be. I also 'think' it would be a good addition, although there is some baggage. This guy would start at SF immediately along with Triggs at PF. That would bring Brooks off the bench, which he's best-suited for -- and let them break in Herring at a slower pace. I think they are vetting this player pretty thoroughly before signing him.

There's a sign outside of the KCAC that says:

It appears said target has not been offered by IUP.

That said, he is still unsigned despite having a listed (11) D2 offers.

Joe has one spot left. He best not miss -- and, it best not be another guard.

Fudala's team is coming up to play UPJ on Nov. 16. I wonder if there's a game in Indiana that same weekend.

Surely they wouldn't travel that far for one non-conference game.

A name has surfaced for the (perceived) final scholarship roster spot. It's interesting. He's a former PSAC West player.

Hybrid G/F (would be a SF at IUP should he sign). Two years' eligibility.

This came from very close to the program so I'm not going to leak the name yet.

If this happens, he would likely be the opening night starter. He has numerous D2 offers as of right now but has ties to several IUP current players.

    It's not Tomiwa or Pip.

All of that said, I've heard he did a pretty good job last year (especially given the mess they had).

As I've told you before, how Chucky isn't on that staff blows my mind. He would be an ace recruiter. He's extremely likeable, he played, he's young, etc.
Chucky is a good dude and has found some nice success with Emerson Fundamentals. I’ve enjoyed every interaction with him. It seems like he’d be a good fit from the outside looking in.

Catch me up here ... was Steve his HC at Prep?

I think IUP fans are going to like Pickens. He's going to fit well in to Joe's defensive philosophy.

The kid got in a fight (at age 18). We aren't talking murder or heavy drugs. The serious charges were all tossed.

    Hoping for the best.

Yes. I was aware of that and I think it is an excellent situation for Pickens. As I said in a previous post, I only wish him well in his academic and athletic career. Hopefully, any personal issues that he may have are behind him as well.

Never said I knew the "whole situation", but it is an established fact that those two individuals are now at IUP. Ironic, isn't it?
