Re: PSAC WEST
It would be hard to believe that Clarion cares any less about men's basketball than they do about softball and that team went 0 and 43 this season! Oh and freakin' FORTY-THREE!!!!

During this now 2+ months delay, Clarion's best players are transferring, no recruiting is occurring, and the next head coach will be asked to work for peanuts and recruit leftovers with very few scholarships. But he will be expected to succeed?!?!
C'mon Clarion, just issue a press release that you don't care about men's basketball.
It's beyond embarrassing at this point.

Re: PSAC WEST
Clarion's leading scorer last season, Khari Williams, has signed with Millersville. This is a big signing for the Mauraders, who already have 4 of their top 5 players returning next winter. Millersville was on the cusp this past season. They are going to be pretty strong next year. Williams was a very good player on a horrible team. With talent around him he may really breakout in 2019-20.
Mason Mraz, to my knowledge, is still unsigned. Recall Mraz won (7) PSAC Freshman of the Week awards two years ago before sitting out last season with an injury. He announced his transfer shortly after the season ended.
Clarion's other top player from last season, Elijah Cottrill, appears to still be there.

Contenders:
IUP - The roster isn't set yet but they have a ton of talent for next season. Guards are completely loaded.
UPJ - Just about the whole roster returns plus a key guard who was injured last season. They will be very good. NCAA expectations.
SRU - A healthy Micah Till gives them a chance. However, they have some key pieces to replace. Grady's first class will be interesting to see.
The TBD crowd:
Cal - The Vulcans have a loaded freshmen class coming in and several key players returning. They should take a giant step.
Mercyhurst - The Lakers lost two mega-stars. That's not always an easy system for imports to grasp quickly.
Edinboro - The Scots should score a ton next season. Give up a ton, too. Coleman returns. Staunch is coming back. Still need another legit big.
Long Season Awaits crowd:
Seton Hill - Nathan Davis may score 45 ppg next season. He's gonna have to ...
Clarion - Still with no coach on May 6 (and just a few players) ... could be a historically bad team.
Need More Info:
Gannon - Who is staying and who is coming to town? This story needs more time before making a prediction.

Re: PSAC WEST
Ellis is definitely not a D1 caliber player. Wonder if he hates Manchel's guts as much as everyone else?

That's an odd situation. They'll likely be in a rebuild this coming season. Him leaving sure doesn't help.

It posted on Verbal Commits this morning. Ellis is a HUGE loss ... started every game last season and played 30+ mpg. By the end of the season he was one of the top PGs in the PSAC.
Jones didn't play a lot but played in most games.

Re: PSAC WEST
Across the board you are seeing more and more coaches not being terrified at the notion of playing true freshmen. For years it was fairly rare.
I think there are a few key factors:
1) If you don't play 'em ... you'll probably lose 'em in this transfer-fueled basketball world
2) "Basketball kids" play basketball now. Exclusively. Year-round. They are often way more polished now than they were even 15 years ago.
3) In reference to No. 1 above, teams, by-and-large, are constantly flipping their rosters so the opportunities arise faster
