The Stroudsburg telecast is very high quality ... production and announcing.

The result was pretty good also. :-)

I read that wrong. I saw it real quick and thought I read Boro was up at half not the other way around. Wasn't able to watch.

Indeed ... Gannon was the better team and managed the adversity well.

Tough loss today ... Stroud was the better team and a deserving PSAC champion. Congrats to them. Hoping against hope for an NCAA bid, but not terribly confident.

The PSAC Commissioner was interviewed at halftime of the Gannon / Ship game and addressed the tough process behind the decision surrounding the semifinals and finals:

The PSAC had to get special permission from the NCAA to play the championship game at 5 pm. The NCAA deadline is to have all games wrapped up by 5:00 on Sunday.

If the tournament could not be completed by Sunday, the NCAA rule is to declare the highest-remaining seed the champion, meaning that East Stroudsburg would have won. The idea to play both the semis and finals on Sunday never received any serious consideration due to liability issues alone.

Gannon and Edinboro chose to got to class and practice before leaving around 3:00 on Friday afternoon. The weather was only horrific about 1 hour or so from Stroud when you got on the other side of the Poconos. It is commendable the teams went to class, but IMHO I am surprised that the teams didn't leave any earlier. I know some Gannon fans who left on Friday morning and had little trouble arriving.

I-80 can turn treacherous really quickly. I found out the hard way a few years ago when I was driving back from Bloomsburg to Philly during a surprise snow squall just before the NE Extension of the Turnpike...

Daniel Sapp was a redshirt this year and will play in 2018-19.

Of all the players lost on this, IUP won't miss a beat for the most part. Hutton and Blake are very replaceable. Glover's scoring will be missed but Malik and Foster can pick up that slack amongst transfers/recruits.

If you haven't ever had the privilege of witnessing a Gannon at Mercyhurst 46-44 style slogfest at the MAC, the K-State / UMBC game was remarkably like it. Both teams struggling to score ... turnovers ... shots rimming out ... I was waiting to see if John Reilly and Gary Manchel were on the sidelines in Charlotte today.

All Quiet on the Western Front. That would be a good title for a book.

Not a peep anywhere about Slippery Rock. Prime JUCO signing season is past ... odd.

This past season was a really strong West. This upcoming season, however, sure doesn't appear to be one.

IUP - Joe's stacked for Dante and Cobo senior season ... keeping all these guys happy with minutes may be the looming issue

Slippery Rock - Michah Till and some other nice pieces ... needs a lot more to make a serious run

Edinboro - Lost a ton of scoring

Gannon - Lost a lot of seniors and also the unexpected Evan Phoenix retirement

Mercyhurst - Looks like the rebuild is going to last another year

UPJ - Lost two stars ... two nice younger players remain

Cal - Lost a bunch of players to graduation ... a couple nice pieces returning

Clarion - lost cause ... major player retention issues inside Tippin

Seton Hill - Lost the big guy but some nice guards back ... need immediate post help. Expect a much more disciplined team under the new (Service Academy) coach.

A lot can change prior to school starting but right now it looks like a down year.
