  • The 'Ville is really taking it to ESU at this point. 37-22, 7:37 before the half. They are en fuego.

EDIT:: East Strouds within 46-38 at the half.

    • Millersville leads 58-46 with 11:48 left. The Marauders do look quite impressive. They are challenging defenses inside like nobody else in the East at this point.

      • Millersville 82, East Stroudsburg 71. The East is the Marauders' to lose.

They're playing well and with Nedrow out for Ship probably have the best quality depth of anyone in the East. It's a year they'll want to win in as they have a lot of production leaving after this season. With the Mansfield game postponed today, I'm worried about a thin Ship team weathering the crowded schedule ahead this month.

          • Ville put on a 3-point shooting clinic in the first half, and won running away in the second. They should make a nice run this year. Pencil them in for a shot at the PSAC Title, certainly the best in the East.

Stroud has some nice young talent. I think they'll be contenders the next couple of seasons.

              • In women's basketball action, the Shippensburg women continue their bipolar trip through the schedule, beating Mansfield by 18 points today after losing to them by 20 earlier in the season.

Losing Shamir Johnson for the season gave Davon Lee and Mike Ramos opportunities they might not have had otherwise. McAlily is playing above expectations as a Freshman, and Pepin has become a force near the basket. The backcourt shooting has improve for this team to move forward.

I agree about the shooting. Their offense tends to disappear for long stretches.

They might have some of the best single-game performances in the PSAC this season ... and some of the worst. There are games where they look for all the world like they don't want to be there.

It has been strange to see. Usually if a team is packing it in for the year you'll see a continuing downward spiral in performance, but about the time you think that is the case with this Ship team they come back with a good performance.

                        • Lakeem McAlily poured in 27 points against the Golden Bears as the Warriors defeated Kutztown for the second time in 5 days. The R-Fr was 11-17 from the floor and 4-5 at the FT line. Carlos Pepin was a perfect 6-6 from inside the 3-point line, but missed 2 from behind the arc, scoring 16. Troy Jones and Justin Paz both scored in double digits as the Warriors distanced themselves from 4th place West Chester. They are almost assured no worse than 3rd place in the East, but still have 1st place within their reach.

They'd have a tough time getting top seed as they have to win out and have Millersville lose twice as Millersville owns the head-to-head.

                              But not mathematically impossible.

                              • It's crazy to me how far Kutztown MBB has fallen. My first two years there they were a really solid program. 2 seasons of 20 wins or more, strong competition against other solid teams, and 2 tourney appearances (including a Sweet 16 trip). Since the 2016-17 season it has been a downward spiral.
