D2 rankings are usually based off last year's success, period. Last year WF nobody even heard of, Presto #2 ranking, see how it works genius....just sayin

WF schedule is brutal. They are far from a guarantee. That league is crazy good. That's a case ... as we saw ... of who gets hot at the end.

I think everyone, including the current IUP coaches remember the let down in 2013 after making regionals in 2012 and the high ranking, and Bob Eblen's pick. This team is a much different animal I think. Sure, they could get over confident and blow it, Tort might suffer a sophomore year jinx, but . . . all of the coaches stayed . . . seems they are committed to this team. The spring game had some interesting wrinkles in the offense with all the backfield talent available. Temple's return is huge. There is not the reliance on 3 or 4 skill players. If a couple of the transfers pan out, it will be another special season.

One of the transfers was walking around the sidelines last Wednesday in a knee brace ... still think there are some more roster surprises to come ... jus sayin

Yes indeed monster DB from Gulf South Conference grad transfer arrived today 3 year starter in that league and looking towards shot at next level. Had gone FCS but something with grad school there didn't work out. Nice late break for defense!

Yes indeed best D2 league in my mind. A ton of skill and fertile recriuting areas plenty of players to go around and all fully funded...just sayin

Yes Kilgore hurt his knee in end zone fade play day before scrimmage. Does not look good tough break kid got hurt last year at Towson.

Nothing worse than camp injuries. Every team goes through it. Awful.

Unfortunately it is a violent game. You have to let them beat on each other in camp some. Part of the process. If you don't, they will look like a sissy team in opening night.

Thanks everyone for the tips on how to persuade my wife that the game at Ashland would be a great way to celebrate our 10-year anniversary. I read them to her and it helped. She laughed at least, but then asked, "How do you know these guys?" I think I'm seeing some cracks!

Unrelated...We're seriously looking at returning to Indiana, PA from Columbus and are going to look at a few houses tomorrow. Do any of you live in the borough? I'm trying to understand the income tax situation. It looks like there's a .5% borough tax, and a .75% Indiana School District tax. So in other words, in addition to the standard real estate taxes, there's the 1.25%? Am I understanding that correctly? I grew up in Indiana County, but never lived in the borough. I'm kind of laughing at my tax question because they're astronomical here. A house in the $400K range here comes with a real estate tax of close to $10K, in addition to a 2% local income tax. Granted, things are pretty nice here, but it comes at a steep cost.

I hope i get a chance to wish you and your wife a happy anniversary in Ashland.
I live in Maryland currently but lived in Pennsylvania before and have to say it seemed to me that Pa tax systems more way more friendly. Never lived in indiana borough so will defer to the experts there but Md taxes are high but thankfully seem less than those Columbus taxes. Good luck in your transition back if it happens.

Also, remember that back in PA you'll also be paying into Social Security again.

                              Death and taxes!

Looking at a few houses tomorrow. If all goes well, we could be in by homecoming, or at least closed.

I see #2 is currently not listed on the roster. After doing some research could this be the young man:
