He was recruited by at least 3 of those schools coming out of high school. He had numerous offers from others. He disappeared at Shepherd.

    • Not a portal departure… but Shepherd safety Enelio Peña has declared for the NFL draft.

A 2018 high school graduate so maybe he’s got some home stuff that he needs to take care of, but needless to say odds are going to be zero just about for a future in professional football. Bad advice if he actually thinks he’s got a shot or being drafted.

      • Caleb Monaco has entered the transfer portal. Wonder why he waited until THIS off-season...

Kaleb Monaco was the best player on the team. He was there for 4 years; could have been a difficult decision. He definitely wants to play as a pro someday, so I see him as wanting to move up to another division.

I'll be interested to see where he lands. How do you think he compares to Jamar Brittingham or Irv Sigler?

              Transfer tape: https://www.hudl.com/video/3/1468471...a7ac06d42e0d31

Smaller, faster, pound for pound possibly strongest player on the team. He can't match them statistically, but he played behind a piss poor line for 3 years. They had nearly as many yards in a season as he had in a career. He could be a kick returner or the receiver out of the back field at another level. More exposure might help him long term.

Can't forget Franklyn Quiteh, the HH winner in 2013. Monaco is good but not an HH winner good...

                • If a student-athlete transferred between 2 schools in one of our triads would they have to enter the portal?

They both came from the same high school. Monaco talked about that influencing his decision to attend Bloom.

I don’t know if I see the talent for a move up to FCS. I wonder if he doesn’t end up with a move similar to that guy who left Ship for Rock to have a better shot at getting to the playoffs.

Any additional exposure would help him. His departure clears up why Bloom offered Shepherd RB Harry Adieyefeh Jr.; Bloom looking in the portal is new.

Seems they go through this yearly but always bounce back quickly.

No doubt, however, he is a massive loss.
