  • The winning score on a 4th and 4 with 9 seconds to go. https://x.com/WestmorelandSN/status/1835073545984262645

The WR making the catch had another catch of 61 yards on a 3rd and forever that lead to a score.

    • It’s nice that BU streams the games and they actually look pretty good but I do wish they’d keep an archive of the game footage. I didn’t get to tune in til the very end due to personal business and I would like to watch the whole game to better evaluate what happened.

        • It was a tough loss to Seton Hill. The next opponent, Edinboro, got roughed up by Kutztown pretty severely; it should be a close contest with evenly-matched teams. The Edinboro Quarterback Bernard has a Stronger arm and more experience, but it doesn't seem like they have any big-play receivers. They all transferred out of Dodge.

I stand corrected. I was looking at the schedule for links and never thought to click the little TV/Monitor icon up in the corner of the page.

            • Was at the game. Reading a lot of the posts and all pretty accurate. Was a team effort in the loss. Looking at box scores does not tell the story. All phases had a let down.

              1. Special teams is going to be an issue in these tight games if they don’t get cleaned up. Punting was good but coverage was not. Short kick offs also an issue

              2. Defense is very solid and will keep them in games. Yes they gave up a big play end of game but that happens when you are on the field so long like they were in the 2nd half.

              3. Third year in a row w new OC. Running a new offense against a different look every week will take time to be proficient. Fairmount was surprised but teams now will adjust. Offense needs to stay on schedule w this style offense. More run/pass balance would be nice to see

Edinboro will be a great challenge. A win on the road would be a great set up to start league play.

              • Edinboro and Bloom seems like an interesting matchup, pretty even really. Both have good experience on defense, On offense both teams with newcomers, Bloom has a better Offensive line but Edinboro has a better Quarterback with many years of starting experience. Edinboro has like six starting players from Florida, from some very competitive high school football areas. Not sure what the link is down there but there has to be something.

                • The 4th quarter was wild, especially the last 3 minutes or so. Bloom scores TD to go ahead, Edinboro scores TD to go ahead, Bloom scores TD to take the lead, and Edniboro throws a pick on a Hail Mary to end the game.

Bloom really struggles in the kicking game. Missed an extra point and had another blocked. Bloom also had a punt blocked for a TD and another punt blocked. Offense struggled for much of the game running the ball, but throwing the ball downfield was successful late. Looks like Riley will be the QB next week after today's comeback.

LB Thompson led the defense with tackles but limped off the field with an injury in the 4th; (ankle?). WR Anderson game back after injury in preseason but was knocked out of the game on the target call/unnecessary roughness.

It would have been a tough 1 point loss again, if the offense didn't respond. Defense was burnt on long passes, but held up. O needs some tuning.

                  • Wild game is right! The special teams killed Bloom yesterday, the 2 blocked punts in 1st half and spotting Ediboro 12 right in the beginning. The Defense did a very good job. #7 the true Freshman is going to be legit player had perfect coverage and kid for Ediboro made a great play! Bloom found a way to win!

                    • Bloom faces West Chester on Saturday, who is a surprising 0-3 so far and played three close games; it appears to have some talent, but with a new head coach, it should be a close game based upon the last three weeks of play of each team. The quarterback for WCU, Jordan, seems to be the leading rusher (198 y)and passer (644 y), so he's probably the main focus of the Bloom defense.

                      • Bloom picks up offense and defense players of the week.

Could be big crowd if former players show up to honor Coach Hale.

"The Bloomsburg department of athletics in partnership with the Husky Legacy Club has announced the Salute to Danny Hale to celebrate his induction in Bloomsburg on September 28, 2024.

Hale, one of the winningest coaches in all of NCAA Division II, retired June 28, 2013, after spending 20 seasons as the head coach of the Huskies and 25 years overall as a head coach. Hale also spent five years as head coach at West Chester University (1984-1988).

As part of the celebration, Bloomsburg athletics is hosting A Salute to Danny Hale, sponsored by the Husky Legacy Club (HLC) on Saturday, September 28 following the Huskies home football game against West Chester which kicks off at 2:00 pm at Danny Hale Field in Redman Stadium. The event is free to all attendees and registration is encouraged for all guests. The event will be held at Monty's in the Pettit Athletic Complex on upper campus of Bloomsburg."

Yes, Bart pointed me to the link previously. I had been looking for it on the schedule next to the links for the box score and recap. I never thought to click the little TV/computer monitor icon at the top of the page.
