I think in the case of football it's a subpar HC and staff, inclusive of the current transfer environment. Same goes for wrestling (will they get a LH guy to start the bailout?). Same goes for MBB and WBB which I don't follow too closely (except for IUP).

Ultimately, the issue lies with the AD office.
Someone probably know the scholarships numbers, but last I saw football at around 10. If you know where the money went, please show me.

There's no tellin' where the money went.

      Sorry, that was simply irresistible.

        • I made a point to go see Alex Achenbach in the postseason last year. You guys are going to want to get the ball in his hands early and often.

Ship has a small guy from Frederick County, Md., named Ethan Arneson who might be pretty interesting, but we'll need better o-line blocking than we've had recently.

It's fun to say those lyrics as if you are Dick Vitale

Stutzman is now assistant at Davidson. Actually, his title is Associate HC.

So he was hired a day or two ago along with is former assistant coach. He probably was waiting to see what was happening with the Bloom job, and would have taken his assistant with him. I imagine this means Bloom made a decision. Or Stutzman wants to retire in Carolina. I was rooting for him to make a comeback.

I don't think I can take the bait on that lyric but you are right by saying you can't go back.

I think they will make a statement publicly real soon (this week?) but the decision on Stutzman could have been that he is no longer being considered.

The rumors FWIW are that Kemerer is the guy. We'll see.

It's just getting real late for this situation to be playing out.

Well, Bart, it looks like you got your wish. Stutzman has been hired as the "new" Bloomsburg Wrestling coach.

For myself, I was hoping they didn't poach Perry from Lock Haven, He is such a key person in that program and the date is so late to replace a coach.

I guess Perry didn't want the job and Kemerer, rumor has it, rejected their offer to return to Brown as an assistant coach (How does that happen?).

So, the lone coaching vacancy in D1 Wrestling has been filled. Where does that leave Davidson. They announced 3 days ago that Stutzman was appointed Associate Head Coach and was bringing his assistant with him from Buffalo. What does Davidson do now?

I think Bloom is headed for an even worse year than the previous few. Can Stutzman handle that?

So you are saying Stutzman was their last choice? I take the old man with experience over kids who are just learning how to coach, recruit, and deal with personalities.

Buffalo had several wrestlers in the transfer portal, maybe it is not too late for a good year.

A coach returning after years away, is something else.
                        "
Read this by a sports writer:" Hiring Stutzman for the BU Huskies is a strategic masterstroke. His proven track record with training athletes all the way to national arenas is one to be seen as a threat. As the season unfolds, David Taylor has a lot to look out for. With big moves from competitors, the season is bound to be a thrilling one. And the world has its eyes set on BU and OSU!"

I think that of the 3 he was the 3rd choice. The online wrestling community is pretty knowledgeable and said that Bloom made an offer to Kemerer and he rejected it. Meanwhile, Stutzman had accepted the Davidson job. As for Perry, he is an up and comer in coaching and is well respected. I think he'll wait for another opportunity but who knows about the intra-CU discussions. It would have been controversial for him to leave LH in late August.

We'll see how Stutzman fares in this stint. His big accomplishments were like 15 years ago and the world changes.

As for the portal, LHU has the Buffalo 157 lb'er who might start. LHU also has Bloom's 165 from last year who will compete for the starting role. Just about all of the Buffalo wrestlers in the portal found new homes. I don't think they are reversing course to stay with the coach and heading to Bloom. But you never know.

That knowledgeable online wrestling community also said "And apparently there's a big donor ready to step up and fund it to the tune of millions" in regard to hiring Kmerer and getting a well known assistant. Do you remember when Stutzman laid into me on the wrestling forum?

                              • OT, I know, and why am I posting so much on the Bloom thread? Please read the article below. This is nuts. Have you Bloom folks known about this? Yet another case of sexual misconduct for Bashar Hanna, who was fired from 2 previous schools after sexual misconduct allegations, including our very own Kutztown University. How did this guy get hired to be President of Bloomsburg University in the first place? How did he subsequently get promoted to be President of the new Commonwealth University? But this latest case is mostly about the cover -up. That's where one really gets nailed, as we know. Does Greenstein's recent resignation have any correlation to this? He always seemed pretty chummy with good 'ole Bashar.
