Yeah I have gotten in debates from "facebook football experts" that have their own page and blog that think Notre Dame will win. I countered its likely to be a blowout base on Notre Dame not being able to keep up with the Ohio State offense. I hope it comes to pass so I can collect receipts.

If ND can make OSU play between the hashmarks then they do have a chance. Remember ND has the #2 pass defense, just behind OSU. Whereas I think Freeman has performed a miracle at ND, I believe OSU is just "that team" this year and is on a roll.

Although every ounce of my being believes in ND - I pray the spirits of the 4 Horseman, Knute Rockne, and The Gipper help us out...haha. RUDY, RUDY, RUDY!

The '24 Winter window was 30 days and had over 3,000 D1 players. If WT landed any of them, they are already on campus for Spring Semester. Very few if ANY D1 impact players will sign with WT. Maybe you snatch some dII portal players....again, probably not immediate impact players. But there are cases where some decent players will sign with a mediocre DII for personal reasons.

The next portal window is short. It's April 15-30 of '25.

All these players are looking to start and want NIL. It is all about NIL.

IMO, it was easier back in the day to get impact players, D1 caliber, from JUCO's than it is now from the portal.

H3ll, I'm just happy my alma mater is playing for a natty on Monday.....even though they will get KILLED. Ha.

I agree with ASU Pops you used to see D2 schools rosters loaded with former DI players now that is very rare. Since DI players don't have to sit when they transfer there is no reason to transfer down to the D2 Level anymore. The D2 Portal scene is more of a musical chair game with players moving from one DII school to the next DII school and a lot players getting left with no chair when the music stops.

This. Any D2 coach not mining the transfer portal is going to be getting his a** kicked by FCS talent next September. Several thousand D1 players looking for a home.

8 wins? You're dreaming! We can't schedule enough NAIA teams to get there.

I thought Lynn was a decent hire, but good coaches don't take multiple years to show serious improvements.

I looked up his results at Missouri Western and they did not look good. I'm expecting yet another lame year for WT football.

I thought Lynn was a decent hire, but good coaches don't take multiple years to show serious improvements.

Pre NIL/Portal days you would give a coach (Lynn) in this situation a few years to build his program from the ground up with high school recruits and such.

Now I do agree with you. Get your guys out of the portal to fit whatever scheme you want to run and show what you got.

The transfer portal is like a clearance sale for all FCS, D2, D3, etc. for all teams and coaches this year.

If Lynn cant find what he needs from the 7000+ players in the portal and solicit help from donors to make it happen for at least an 8 win season then its time to pull the plug on him and find a coach with modern ideas and modern knowledge how to use the portal.

The portal this year should provide opportunities especially at D2 to make it an even playing field if all things being equal at full scholarship capacity.

Tiebreaker and thinning the herd is going to be coaching and that cant be hidden in 2025.
