    Not that surprising. Gannon still played without top two point guards that get 20 minutes each plus their next guard off the bench. Hopefully they will be back Saturday, er, Sunday. And of course hope they play at all.

              Kutztown has been without star forward Moe Williams for over a month now. As we saw first-hand in the IUP game out there ... he's a baller and a handful. So, that is probably the biggest item for them.

              Shepherd just can't get to the finish line. They've lost several close games, including:

              Fayetteville State, 57-56 (OT)
              Gannon, 68-60
              @UPJ, 65-64
              Virginia Union, 56-54
              @Millersville, 75-71

              @IUP was the only game they got beat up (65-46). And, really, that was a good game for 30 minutes.

              They are tough defensively. Couple more buckets and their record would look much different.

              • Lot of tight finishes today.

                I'd chalk some of it up to these long layoffs.

                One-win Mansfield has now taken Ship and WCU in to the final seconds. Something seems to have clicked for the Mounties.

                  PHIL ALSTON continues an impressive run, when there's a game, with 33pts, 18 rbds and 4 blks as the VULCANS come back at BORO for an 89-84 win. PEGRAM with 27 and BOSWELL with 15 pretty much accounted for most of the scoring. Next at CLARION on Wednesday.

                  • Mercyhurst got past Kutztown. It was tight. Still no Moe Williams for the Golden Bears.

                    Seton Hill lost by 9 to Slippery Rock. Griffins were up 8 at the half. Rock mauled them the final 20.

                    Clarion gave UPJ a tough one before falling..

                    Good showing from Edinboro in the loss to Cal.

                          Due to expected weather, according to Clarion site. Not for the reasons so many other games were postponed.

                            Indiana is going to get bombed next 24 hours. I doubt they play, either.

                              • Edinboro at UPJ is on as scheduled. Boro made the trip yesterday ahead of the storm.
