If Bowie was propped up by their SOS, one would think that losing to a very good VCU team should make the team even STRONGER from an SOS standpoint so possible still in the top 10...EVEN at 16-12.

Originally posted by Scrub View PostDon't look now, but that old saw about strength of schedule rears it ugly head once again. With Ship being ranked ahead of WLU (one more loss, but a stronger schedule) and with Bowie outranking JC Smith, Mercy, Cal, ESU, etc., it's clear that the committee this year is privileging strength of schedule. Maybe that game against Daemen wasn't such a bad idea after all. ; )

To be honest, I'm surprised Fite even scheduled Dickinson, a very average D-III program. Not a game that was going to help their rating.

8. California

Bowie State and Charleston both lost last night on the women's side. Charleston lost to No 3. Notre Dame. Bowie State lost to No. 4 Virginia Union. We'll see if this changes anything for those on the bubble.

Two big regional games this weekend.
Today: Virginia Union at Virginia State
- VU won the first meeting. Huge rivalry game.
Tomorrow: West Liberty at Fairmont State
- Not much needs said. Two elite programs battling for the higher seed. WL won the first meeting by single digits but had control the whole way.

I guess since Virginia State loss to Virginia Union. Virginia State will be outside the top 8 and will need to win the CIAA?
Look for Mercyhurst to move up. East Stroudsburg and Cal are moving upward.
