Samir's only weakness is simply his ability to stay on the field. When healty, I agree, he's as good as anybody in the league.

Those RBs took a beating last year in what was likely the most predictable offense around. The play calling insisting on them trying to pound the ball up the middle based on their RBs size was very frustrating - and unsuccessful.

Part of that was they weren't a threat to throw the last several games. Lenny grew wildly inconsistent and the WR core was decimated.

They had some real bad luck with injuries last year. Hopefully that luck turns this season. The 'next man up' crap sounds good for coaches to babble about ... but it's not reality. The next man up doesn't replace Samir, Jo Jo, etc.

It seems IUP's running backs take a beating every year due to the mileage they put into every game. Hopefully the new QB and WR core can help carry the load a little more this year. Has anyone heard of a WR transfer coming in from Penn State?

He's missed three games in three seasons.

Dressing and being healthy enough to be effective is what I meant.

Slippery rocks first game is against Wayne State, did nothing in the last decade.

Cal U plays Saint Anselm, did nothing in the last decade.

IUP plays New Haven a team that made it to the 2nd round of the playoffs last year.

Slippery rock and Cal U love to play scrubs in the first game of the season.

IUP played Ashland twice and now another good team.

Agree with you 100%. The two-time 1st Team All PSAC West AND two-time All-Super Region One RB is one of the best in the league and in the region. I still would love a bigger back that can have that short yardage job. But yes, he could get the job done if needed.

After reviewing this web site showing Penn St players that entered into the transfer portal:

                              https://247sports.com/college/penn-s...ransferPortal/

It shows a BIG WR that is apparently available. Just saying. But we shall see.

What I recall about Samir Bullock is that 2 years ago he had an undisclosed foot injury that seemed to hamper him quite a bit. I think he had other lower leg injuries that he played through and then (was it) last year when he tore an ACL and only missed the 3 games Matt is referring to. Bullock has definitely had some injuries but has been able to play through it. I don't think we've seen the cutting ability he had when he first came on the scene although he did show some flashes of that last year. I hope he comes back strong in '19.
