Ugly loss, how quickly NW has slipped since AD left. Mel had a NC his 5th year, AD his 3rd-RW has been here since ‘17 and is no threat to win a title. NW is regressing to pre-Mel days at this point.

A last minute "family thing" came up and I had to abort the trip to Warrensburg. I had to settle for watching the game on the tube later in the day. Oh, if I had been there, I definitely would have come over and found you.

the mistake (i think) was made with respect to recruiting. the last oc hire should have been made with as much deference to someone who can recruit talent as play calling, the offense broadly speaking, player development, etc. either that or he should have made additional staff changes. sturdy's (apparent) plan to bring in mid america nazarene talent is working out as well as you'd expect.

now we're at a critical juncture. idk what the school's appetite for patience necessarily is but i assume there isn't $ for a buyout sitting around anywhere, meaning dude's here for whatever the duration of the current pact is & has at least that much time to turn this thing around. hopefully he does, that would obviously be the best outcome.

also....one has to wonder what the internal thinking is - someone was on here last spring claiming that the staff was happy with the qb room & the talent in there. i can't remember who posted it, doesn't matter anyway, but hopefully that person was lied to, otherwise that is an alarming internal perspective given what we've seen thus far.

What is the staff supposed to say to alums? The guys we recruited suck? The guys haven't developed as planned? With the portal if those guys heard negative feedback almost every one of them would have hit the portal. Unless you are Deion, you can't publicly criticize these kids. Most of them are snowflakes anyway and now the portal gives them the opportunity to go somewhere and be loved.
