Would this be the NAIA equivalent of the former NCAA D1 Great West Conference?

I'm not sure how they will structure football, if you do divisions you'd have to have Rocky Mountain and MSU Northern with the Dakota teams. Unless they do regional permanent opponents and mix in a rotation of the farther away opponents. Either way, I'm kind of surprised we have a resolution already and that Dakota St and Bellevue joined DSU and the other schools from the North Star in the Frontier.

Bismarck State applied, and the Frontier Conference said they've been working with them, but they haven't been formally announced just yet

They've been officially accepted into the NAIA, although the school hasn't acknowledged that yet with their own announcement. The Dickinson State announcement made it sound like Bismarck St was already happening in 2025.

Revive Columbus on its 100th anniversary of ceasing to exist, add the remaining schools from this list that are alive, then add Jamestown and Valley City.

*If Columbus cant be revived, add Wayne State.

Run it former BIG12 style (five division games, three cross division, three out of conference.

Then those who dream of their He-Minnesota, Dakota haters club can have their very own Tater Tot hotdish conference. If they need additional members when Crookston and St. Cloud close, take in the UMAC.

Tater Tot Hotdish Athletic Conference and the Chislic League.

Then is it is only a matter of time before NDSU & SDSU go to the Mountain West or some other similar conference.

Then the only question is if USD and UND also go. If not then Augie and Mankato and maybe Duluth seem Summit Bound.
I think UST may happen but that's decades away at best.

And a few sweet 16 or elite 8 runs.

They aren't world beaters yet, but they're getting closer to eligibility and they were pressuring for a while in the Summit Regular Season Standings. I've been impressed with them

They certainly aren’t a bad team. But the Summit isn’t exactly a strong conference. They do have the most potential though of any of the schools in the league.

It's the perfect jumping point league. Close regional schools for Midwest D1. The point is they tried it and they are working it as best they can!

They didn’t have much of a choice after getting the boot from the MIAC. And their bottomless pockets do not hurt the cause.

Im not gonna go SW_Mustang on the bit by any means, but there isn’t much exciting (IMO) about the summit league other than renewing old rivalries. Which were pretty one-sided most of the time.

They had options, they made the best one.

Times change and so do programs. I'm not afraid of anyone in anything other than MVFC football at this point

I've been quiet on UST for the most part. They have a few things going for them.

If you count options as a rag-tag D3 conference (possibly) or a temporary move to D2 (possibly), then yes. Both of those are non-starters, so they really took the only option that made any sense. St Thomas had the money and donors to do it.

Fear has nothing to do with it. Money is a much more real obstacle. Especially if you want to keep football.
