Maybe this was covered, but the commissioner of the Summit League is the former NCHC commissioner. Probably why there are rumors they want to add hockey.
Josh Fenton - Staff Directory - The Summit League
Seems odd - going from overseeing championship caliber programs in one of the most popular sports in North America to running a hokey pokey conference full of farm schools with zero championship hopefuls.
I really hope Denver and UND put a stop to that nonsense if it's true. Lindenwood won't say anything.

I've always said that the only (and best) reason for MSU to move up is to protect the men's hockey program. The Mavs to the NCHC looks dead right now. But maybe there's hope if the Summit decides to play hockey.

I was so happy when Zeke Mayo decided to go to Kansas. He's a real D1 athlete that will get to play with actual D1 schools instead of a hodge podge of DIII/DII talent cosplaying as D1 schools.
Agreed on the Big10. The old WCHA was just fine.

Hockey is paramount at MSU so if sacrificing the other sports to protect it is part of the future - then that's fine. I'm not obligated to pay for tickets.

I could see the MAC starting their own league as well and inviting the Michigan CCHA schools. The Summit would have 7, and the MAC would have 7. Bemidji and Mankato looking outside in, maybe they'd get invited to the MAC.
In this scenario MSU better be praying for a Summit inviteMavs > Everyone
