Looks like St Cloud men's hockey is by far the most profitable sport for an athletics department that broke even. So I'd say they do much for the school in terms of revenue.

In a semi-related note: Remember when Danahar and Hmielewski both promised that we would get a bubble?

well, I sure do. But Danahar did get Mattke built which is an amazing football facility. And we have had conference winning teams and some good success under them,, before they left.

I've been trying to say we need to be ahead of the curve. This is go time.

St Thomas will ultimately go to the Big East with the other Catholic Schools.

Then is it is only a matter of time before NDSU & SDSU go to the Mountain West or some other similar conference.

Then the only question is if USD and UND also go. If not then Augie and Mankato and maybe Duluth seem Summit Bound.

I thought I read an article some time back that said it will basically cost the same for their travel or if they joined D2 (adding scholarships and upgrades). If thats the case you would think that D2 would be the better option since it would require less time for thier students to be out of class.

Speaking of travel, how do you think Arizona Christian feels. Jesus every away game must be a flight in that conference.

Exactly! Just a matter of time before DSU is in the NSIC, just needed games till facility is built

This also includes Bellevue (which doesn't have football) and Bismarck St. It also mentions divisional play, so most sports will still be more regional like the North Star currently is. I'm not sure how they will structure football, if you do divisions you'd have to have Rocky Mountain and MSU Northern with the Dakota teams. Unless they do regional permanent opponents and mix in a rotation of the farther away opponents. Either way, I'm kind of surprised we have a resolution already and that Dakota St and Bellevue joined DSU and the other schools from the North Star in the Frontier.
