Blue states never get anything right besides raising taxes

I think it is very likely to happen with DSU, IMO.

If you think that's bad you should see red states. Yuck.

The novelty of your posts has worn off long ago. So disappear!

            • Ok, I’m not sure i have any authority as the ‘owner’ of this thread… But NO POLITICS in here. Either side, they both suck @ss. So I guess no politics after that last statement. Haha

Besides, we all know purple is the best color :)

The main issue is that you would need attendance to make the "dream" picture reality. A nice stadium will draw in people at first, but if the team isn't good, a lot won't go each week. And if there's bad weather and they can watch at home, some people, especially older ones who would normally be there, may go that route.

There's weeks DSU (Dickinson St) doesn't fill their still fairly new stadium with an annual playoff team, but they've proven they can compete at the Frontier level by beating Montana Tech in the playoffs last year. Dakota St will have an interesting time trying to build a winning team in the Frontier.

I don't know enough about what's going on in Madison - but my guess is attendance isn't really the primary goal. Gut feeling is that it's either a) for recruiting purposes, or b) as a flex. Others might say that it's a beautification project to court an NCAA conference, but these plans have been in the works long before the NSIC's recent movement.

I say b) simply because there's a ton of resources being poured into higher education in southeastern South Dakota over the last several years and I could see DSU trying to raise their own flag in the arms race, but I don't know enough about the school to say either way.

It sounds like Jamestown's league, the NSAA, is doing a round-robin home-and-home schedule similar to the GNAC's last few seasons, based on what I saw from Jamestown's football schedule. Are they still on track to join the NSIC next season?

Yes, and somehow this has dragged on for 115 pages. Evidently trying to make this longer that War and Peace.

The NSAA is going to cease after next season, fwiw.

                              Things to observe
                              -enrollment
                              -athlete participation
                              -men's soccer
                              -future of the jv teams
Decisions gotta be made here pretty quick. I think they drop JV and Men's soccer but what do I know.
I also think they drop a ton of enrollment

What do all you armchair quarterbacks think Jamestown intent was in pursuing reclassifying to NCAA D2 athletics? Personally, I don't see any benefit for the Jimmies, except less travel miles incurred than in the GPAC. Mary and Minot have struggled for relevance in the NSIC, hard to imagine UJ's prospects being better.
