OK, honest question here...the Jimmies are new to D2 and have only played two games, both losses. How are they ranked ahead of 13 others? Are those 13 that bad? (I know rankings are subjective and maybe it's just a better league or better area for football?) at the end of the day it doesn't matter, but I'm curious how that works

Devils Lake, ND has been fantastic for fishing and lots of MN people go there...not a beautiful and scenic fishing experience, but my understanding is the walleyes taste goodOriginally posted by laker View Post
I know a number of local guys from Buffalo Lake and Hector who go out to Lake Oahe in SD. Also a bunch who go up to Canada. Meanwhile, Lakes Allie and Preston are about eight miles north of town. And a number of Iowegians come up here.

They are 0-1, having lost at Augustana 37-7. So there are probably a number of 0-2 teams out there.Originally posted by CollegeFBGuy View Post

We camped at the Fort and attended a full weekend of the festival. It was a super cool experience! The chuckwagon food, the other booths, looking at the buildings and seeing the people that do the reenactments. The one thing that was a lot of fun, and I had never done before, is the military ball with all of the old dances.Originally posted by vikingfaithful View PostFort Sisseton is a beautiful well preserved fort. Wish I could there for festival. The horse stable has nice stone work, quarried from local rock. People were tough back then.
Sica hollow is a very large forest with a lot of sugar maple trees. I collected seeds and now have 2 in my yard 30yrs. old and with spectacular fall colors.
Lots of camping and RV sites in the area. NSU4LIFE did an excellent job of describing the area.
Been a while, Some farmer offered horse back rides through the hills and woods, my kids and wife really enjoyed it.
Noted many of our good neighbors from Minnesota visiting the area.
I'd highly recommend people attend this event!

A well-said post.Originally posted by SW_Mustang View PostI came into the fold at the height of the Sauter years and the downward slide has been... tough... especially given some of the guys that have come through our program.
I came in during the Eidsness years, out at the old field and the start of the Shudlick era at QB. Seeing those down years then probably has me a little more reserved for these down years. Also interestingly, we lost to the Jimmies in each of my first two years following the program....maybe that's why I'm not as down as others on Jamestown.
I will also say, I don't live and breathe Mustang football as much because of course I am basketball first and foremost. So I might just subconsciously not get as worked up about football because of that.

I mean - what's really the difference between the 149th worst team and the 155th, and 159th, and 162nd?Originally posted by CollegeFBGuy View Post

There's probably some reason they got the nod over a handful of other teams, but it's hard to quantify at that point.

I miss the buzz that those football teams brought to campus - it was during the height of the Gores years when there wasn't much else to be excited about. There were some concerns that we'd be on the chopping block, and talks about tearing down a part of campus. Be nice if we had some of that excitement and pride back.

I'm not a golfer! I am an enjoyer of food though.Originally posted by Purple Mav Man View Post
Forget the food, golf course review and shot by shot breakdown of your round
Nothing wrong with the sport, I dabbled in my younger years - it just never really stuck. I've been thinking about picking it back up someday as it's a good way to get outside.

I bought a push cart years ago and wish I would have done so earlier. Nothing like walking 18 holes early in the morning. Years ago I was lucky enough to see an eagle snatch a fish out of stream 20 feet away from me.Originally posted by SW_Mustang View Post
